Functional but hard to adjust and not massive enough for heavy duty work.
This thing is what it says it is and it works.I have 2 problems with it:1) It is hard to turn so as to adjust, the parts are tight fitting, and even with my adding oil and grease, it is hard to open or close the jaws large distances. You can't just spin the adjustment handle with your finger like you can on some vices. [The main action is a U-shaped channel (part of the moving jaw) sliding in a rectangular hole (part of the base and stationary jaw). The U is not square; it is bent out. So it rubs with high pressure, and high friction, against the rectangular hole. ] The more I use the vice the more I find this to be annoying.2) It is not heavy duty. Thre isn't a lot of metal either on the anvil portion or in the jaws. You can see that in the posted pictures if you take the time to notice, which I did not; there is no deception from the seller. So, I worry about really whacking a some piece of metal that I want to, say, bend or deform with heavy hammer blows. I worry about the strength, but more I worry about the missing mass which is needed to really whack a solid piece of metal.Perhaps a good 6" heavy duty vice, with lots of jaw and anvil mass, just can't be purchased at this kind of price. The heavy duty looking vices that I have found, those with lots of metal in the anvil section and the jaws, cost much more money.

Lever does not turn easily
The problem with this unit is that the spring for the lever is coiled so tight that every time you want to open the jaw by turning the lever, you have to use one hand to hold the unit. Otherwise it is very difficult to open or close the jaw.
