General Tools Digital Handheld Thermo-Hygrometer (CMM880)

Delivered on time, and works well just like the last one I purchased. Which I thought I misplaced on a job site, and then found the day after this one arrived !!

A cheaper-feeling device than what I imagined. Its accuracy is questionable, and without paying extra for the calibration materials, I'll never know for sure. I have a less expensive hygrometer that I've "calibrated" with the table salt and water test. The cheaper model takes perhaps 15 minutes to adjust to the temperature and much longer (an hour?) to acclimate to the RH. The appeal of this upgrade was that it gives a supposedly accurate reading (plus or minus 3%) within a few seconds of turning it on. Unfortunately, the readings always conflict with the tool I've already calibrated; sometimes even the temperature -- an easier measurement than RH -- is off by two degrees. So, it appears this $80 tool out of the box is no better, or perhaps even worse, than others selling for half as much, and to improve on that, you'll have to pay much more to get a certified unit, or pay for the salt canisters and certify it yourself.

it works fine but cheazy. totally not worth 70+ dollars. you can buy a same quality tool for far less.
