The product comes in a very cute and well manufactured tiny (maximized space) box, and the holders are real plastic. Though I eschew the use and buying of plastic products, the adhesive is probably much more reliable on a plastic rather than a ceramic surface. For me, I took a transparent ruler - 12 inches, and measured from the outer corner of the bath cover (hate it). I placed the ruler from the ceiling and aligned it with the outer corner of the bath cover. I placed it as far up as possible which is in fact 12 inches from the bathroom ceiling.I don't want the shower curtain to hang down many inches.The holders are really cute. I hope they will work. I am not placing anything on that curtain rod other than the shower curtain.Lastly, the shower curtain rod is a "tension" curtain rod - and it fails.
