Carburetor Carb with Gaskets for Onan Cummins Generator & Microquiet 4000-Watt 4KYFA26100 4KYFA26100P 4KYFA26100K Replace# A042P619, A041D736, 146-0785

My original carburetor was leaking out the altitude adjustment knob, didn't want to mess with finding the correct o-ring for the needle and wanted my generator to run without burning the house down. Installed on a late 1999 onan 4000 generator model 4ky fa26100j, fit perfect, easy instal (about one hour). Runs much better than before, no leaks, and has a fuel bowl drain valve that my original did not have. The altitude adjustment doesn't appear to do anything, however I don't know the history of the gen and after years of running on a dirty carb it maybe running more the 3600 RPM and it likely needs linkage adjustment. Good buy for the price. I think these "knock offs" get a bad reputation because they are a last resort and the generator linkages have been messed with so much to try and get the old dirty carburetor to work and ends up way out of adjustment once the new one is put on and they don't run correctly.

It's always wise to be weary of a non OEM replacement carburetor. In this case however, and OEM carburetor costs a heck of a lot more than this replacement does. I was able to quickly get this into my Onan generator and it fired up within 4 seconds. Interestingly, I put the linkage on incorrectly and so after the generator warmed up it would not stay running. Once I recognized my issue I flipped the linkage and everything worked perfectly with minor adjustments to the governor. Now my generator is operating like new and able to seamlessly adjust from zero load to almost 4,000 Watts, the max my generator supports. I cannot speak to the longevity of this replacement carburetor however if I get a few years out of it it's well worth the cost. I will be shutting off the fuel source and letting the carb run dry instead of turning off the generator as this should keep the carb components cleaner and last longer. I recommend you do the same. Installing a shut-off valve is simple when replacing a carburetor.

Absolute junk. It didn't work at all. When I called up a small engine mechanic to find out what I did wrong, the first thing he asked was "did you buy a carburetor off of Amazon? They rarely work!" Needless to say, I'm returning this carb and buying an OEM version. DO NOT BUY!

I took a leap of faith on this as reviews are mixed across all of these aftermarket carbs for the Onan 4000. Given that the OEM carb from Cummins was over $1,000 and on back order, what choice did I have? Very pleased to report that my generator is running perfectly, better than it has in years. At this price point, I thought I would just try another one if this one had failed. No need which is great. Do make sure you have the linkages hooked up correctly before you condemn the new carb. I made this mistake initially and corrected it. Lots of help on Youtube out there.

Not difficult to remove old carb and install this unit. Seriously recommend watching a few Youtube videos for helpful hints like use your phone camera to see the bolts in the air cleaner assembly and use a dab of form a gasket to hold gaskets in place during assembly. Genset fired right up and did its job after adjust for altitude here in NW Arizona. Only negative was the fuel filter, not the correct type for my Cummins Onan 4KY. Save it for your lawn mower.

I tried two carburetors from a different supplier and neither of them worked so I ordered this one and it worked perfectly when I installed it. I highly recommend if you need a carburetors for your Onan generator.

Good quality , requires fine tuning after installation

It was obvious my carburetter was not working well, and after removing that we noticed some of the parts were clogged. After purchasing this replacement, and after 15 minutes everything was running perfectly! Good quality product
