Noctua NF-A20 PWM Quiet 200mm Fan

Have been having this nagging cabinet sound for years then discovered the Noctua first changed the noisy 120mm fan and suddenly found the then quiet 200mm fan to be noisy ordered for this one got a whatsapp msg from the vendor asking for cabinet details then stated saying that this fan is more expensive than my cabinet bought it nevertheless and its worth every penny. highly recommend this for all those who are tired of fan noise from cabinet

I built my main PC in a Thermaltake Core V1 case, which I've been quite happy with, but I have found that it does have one annoyance: the fan. At first I was fine with it, as it's noticeably quieter than the 8 fans in my gaming PC (including the GPU's 2 fans), but I've since found that it sometimes gives me a headache; something about the sound just bothers me after a while with no other nearby noise. I looked around at the usual options for a replacement, of which there aren't many choices, and wasn't interested in any of them. Either reviews said the claimed noise level was way off, or the cheap bearings were short-lived and noisy. I recalled that I had read a while ago that Noctua was working on a 200mm fan, so I decided to see if there was any promising news on the matter. To my surprise I found out they were in the process of sending the first shipments to retailers! Having been repeatedly impressed with their products (2 CPU coolers & several fans, bought one at a time over a few years), I immediately decided to watch for the first batch to arrive at my favourite retailers. Amazon was the first to list it for purchase, and I bought one the moment I saw it. In typical Noctua fashion, not a single detail was overlooked; the box is elegantly styled without flashy in-your-face graffiti-like ads or claims, all the accessories you're most likely to need are neatly packaged in a small box (hidden under the fan's protective casing), a very well made easy to understand instruction booklet is stored under the box lid, and the fan itself is stored securely in a plastic casing. If you don't like Noctua's signature colours, then you won't like this fan either as it's exactly the same but on a grander scale. I personally like it; their products are the premium options in their categories, and once you try a Noctua product you understand why they stay loyal to their recognizable theme. As to how this fan fared as a replacement for the stock fan in my Core V1, it was a simple easy swap. I had to use the stock screws because of the shape of the screw mounts in the Core V1 (I couldn't manage to get the Noctua silicone pull-mounts through, maybe someone with smaller fingers can), and it fit perfectly with no issues; the power cord was even the exact length needed to reach the proper pins on the motherboard (ASRock AM1H-iTX). Upon hitting the power button, I had to smile at the difference: it's MUCH quieter that the stock fan! I'm almost certain the only sound I can still hear is the CPU cooler fan (Arctic Alpine M1), and it's barely audible! So in conclusion, If you're even considering this fan and wondering if it's really worth the price or as good as Noctua and the vast majority (nearly 100%) of reviewers claim, the answer is: it certainly is!

This is a perfect drop in replacement for the stock 200 mm fan in the Thermaltake Core V1. No modifications to the case or fan were required. Performance and Quality. The fan is well built, attractive and performs excellently, as one would expect from Noctua. Even at full speed, the fan is barely audible - much quieter than my stock Intel CPU fan even at idle speeds. As a PWM fan, of course, it doesn't have to run at full speed. I'm normally running it at about 60% and I never even hear it. It effectively cools my system built on an Intel 65W Core i5 running at stock speeds, 16 GB RAM, Samsung 970 Plus M.2 SSD and 2 Samsung 860 SATA SSDs. Installation: Use the inner set of mounting holes on the Noctua NF-A-20. They align perfectly with the mounting holes used for the stock fan and make it possible to use the original mounting screws that came with the case. The Noctua fan is a hair thicker than the stock fan, potentially bumping it up against the front cover of the case. I removed the rubber vibration dampers from the Noctua fan just to be sure I had sufficient clearance. Absolutely no issues with vibration noise. I mounted the fan so that the wiring passed through front wall of the of the case by the small rectangular cutout at the bottom. It was close, but the wiring can enter this way with no pinching or rubbing of the wires. If you are happy with the wires entering through the top of the case, that path is wide open. Mounting the fan with the wiring on the side, though, may pinch the wires. Mounting the fan as I did, I needed the included 4 pin extension cable to reach the fan header on my motherboard.

I now have 7 of those awesome fans. Decent air flow and almost no sound.

Great quality but takes every bit of 12V

It doesn't properly fit in a Coolermaster H500M case but with the help of cable ties and forcefully closing the lid I am able to install 2x fans in the front. Nonetheless, it has a sturdy build and performs well
