Believe the poor reviews
Do not use these where critical function is required. Neither float switch worked most of the time; often the float would be in the activation position under water and would not work until jostled by hand several times.

Piece of junk. Burning my little motors out
These switches work for a couple of days. ALL of them go bad. I use them to turn on and off tiny motors in water. As they quit working, they will not allow the motor to shut off, thus burning them out on low water limit. Do not buy. You will be disappointed

Simple, clever design. Works well for sensing liquid levels.
I like how simple and foolproof the design is. There is a magnetic switch in the base and a magnet in the articulated, floating section. You can mount it either for normally-open or normally-closed operation. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is that it's larger than I'd think necessary. Fortunately size isn't usually a concern.

Good buy
Worked well for my project no issues. Rubber oring chemical resistant so far.

One worked one didn't
Thankfully I only needed one switch. Given the price for two, I will accept having only one working. There are multiple suppliers on Amazon for what appears to be the same items. I assume they all originate from the same source and the quality control associated with them is likely questionable for all. Both passed an initial continuity test but when placed under a 40 mA load at 12 volts, one failed closed. The description says "Max Contact: Rating 10W ; Max Switching Voltage: 100V DC ; Max Switching Current: 0.5A ; Max Contact Resistance : 100m ohm "It should be noted that the information above is some what contradictory and as such I would suggest using this only on a low voltage (0-24V) at very low current (<100 mA) and based on my experience of a 50% failure rate. order the multi pack.

Works well if you understand they are designed to trigger a relay
works great, you really need to be aware that these must trigger a relay which then sends power to the device you want to power.. these are not rated to take much current and are only meant to drive a relay at 5v and a few hundred milliamps by my experiments.

They work but could use a redesign
I'm using these on Keurig-style coffee makers to automatically refill the water tanks. The size is perfect to fit the small reservoirs. The quality is fine, and the silicone gasket seals well.My issue though is that they have an arrow stamped on them, which I would naturally assume means "this way up", but just the opposite. So I had already drilled and installed them in the reservoirs at a level where the switch would break the circuit when the float is parallel, but they don't work that way. The circuit breaks when the float is OFF parallel, so I had to turn them the other way. Luckily I had just enough room for the float to rise and didn't ruin the reservoirs, but the full level is now a bit higher than I'd like .

Defective, stays on when activated
Out of the packaging the switch stayed on indefinitely when activated. Both switched in the package did this. It would only turn off when hit with a screw driver. Piece of junk.
