This is a great series for new minecrafters. The guides are mostly annotated pictures which is interesting even for my kindergarten age child. It is a guide and not encylopedia so it is very prescriptive but because of the annotated picture strategy this makes the building volumes of the collection really shine. It shows you enough buildings of varying styles and describes step by step how to build that building that it can then allow people to deviate to make their own creations based on the fundamentals it teaches. The redstone and building volumes are excellent. The instructions are concise and clear while providing a little bit of context for new players. Much better than just searching the wiki which may be a challenge for younger players. We haven't dived too deeply into the other volumes as there are a lot of ways to play minecraft and we don't play survival or PvP yet. But, given the quality of the other books I expect them to be great resources to use later on. Paperback / hardcover issue: Apparently there is no difference between the paperback and hardcover versions besides the price. So keep that in mind while ordering.

A wonderful collection of guides to a better understanding of Minecraft. I recently introduced Minecraft to my two boys aged 6 and 4, and they were mesmerized by the game. Getting these guide books for them and having it shipped to Thailand from the States was actually cheaper than buying it locally here, and here they only sold 4 books instead of the 8 books here. The paper quality is surprisingly good and thick and will survive well with the kids frequently flipping through and reading it. Even I enjoy reading them even though I'm not a Minecraft beginner. It's soft cover but I never wanted hardcover in the first place anyways. The guide books offers basic + simple explanations, guides & tips, plus some intermediate build instructions as well. While it isn't a guide book teaching you to build complicated monuments, it does a great job teaching you the basics and helping you better understand how the Minecraft works and thus, giving you a better and more solid foundation to let you imaginations run free in Minecraft. 10/10 - I don't regret buying them and paying for shipping fee across the globe one single bit!!

Absolutely wonderful, came in very neat and clean packaging, brand new, and the size of the books is suitable for children, my little one loved it

Kiddos love em. Kinda wish the pictures were brighter. A little hard to see some of the details (yes the lights are on lol). I also wouldn’t say they are complete lists. Like not all of the villager jobs are listed… just as an example. I wouldn’t recommend this as a complete guide with alll of the ins and outs of Minecraft world stuff. But the books are a good basic start.

This book is pretty helpful. Its very informative. I've been playing off and on Minecraft for years an there were things you could do in those books that i had no clue. Even though the books are a few years old they are still compatible with the 1.8 bedrock edition. My niece's and nephew's love to read them when they come over. I set them up a server so they could practice and play online when they are at home.

My son is new to Minecraft and these books are perfect for beginners to learn how to build, farm and survive as well as many other things. Im sure they will get a lot of use over the next few months. Easy to use with lots of detailed text and pictures.
