Expected this to be some gimmick-y snake oil product, so glad i was wrong.
Years ago someone recommended this for my husband’s psoriasis, which, at the time made both my husband and I roll our eyes, because yea right. I thought the whole thing sounded ridiculous, you can literally buy this stuff at Urban Outfitters... There is no way this is actually going to do anything except maybe give me a rash. Well... I have never been happier to be wrong. My husband has dealt with psoriasis for essentially his entire adult life and then some. When I met him, he had a plaque on his arm that covered roughly three-quarters of his forearm, along with several smaller plaques in other places. He had tried different things over the years, including steroids, but didn't want to keep using them because he personally didn't like the side effects and found that the plaques eventually returned anyway. He started using this several times a day because it was soothing, and eventually it became part of his daily routine. It wasn't overnight magic by any means, we're talking months of consistent use, but the change and effect it had was, dare i say "magic". The large plaque on his arm gradually disappeared, along with the other spots. I remember the moment I realized that he had completely clear skin on his arm, he hadn't seen that skin without the plaque in well over 15 years. It was shocking but so incredible, he was uncomfortable for so long. I want to be really clear that this is our personal experience and I'm not claiming this cream is a treatment or cure for psoriasis. But after watching him use it consistently and seeing the difference for ourselves, we became believers. He eventually ran out, he forgot to reorder it... and the psoriasis didn't come back, it has been almost 6 years. We recently bought another jar because after a period of extremely strenuous work in very hot weather, he felt like he was starting to develop a small area of psoriasis around his ankles. He started using this on it, and within about a week the early signs of it had disappeared for him. I use it too, although for completely different reasons. It's fantastic for minor burns, irritated or dry patches, and rashes or other various skin issues. I've also started using a small amount as the final step in my nighttime skincare routine. My skin has been ridiculously soft and looks really glowy lately. I did change my entire skincare routine around the same time, though, so I can't honestly give this cream all the credit for the glow lol Texture-wise, this is definitely a balm, not a lightweight lotion. It feels thick and a little waxy when you first scoop it out, but it melts down with the warmth of your skin and spreads much farther than you'd expect. A little goes a long way. It does leave some residue and can feel slightly sticky, which I don't mind at night but definitely wouldn't want on my face during the day. For me, this is much more of a nighttime moisturizing barrier product. The scent is basically a non-issue. It isn't particularly fragrant or perfumey to me, and there's no strong medicinal smell. It's just...there which I actually prefer for something I'm putting all over my skin. After initially thinking this was going to be another overhyped “miracle balm,” this has become one of those products that we keep a jar of because we actually reach for it. It's simple, incredibly versatile, lasts forever because you need so little, and in our experience it has been genuinely useful for both of us. This is one of those rare products where I bought it expecting absolutely nothing and ended up reordering it because I didn't want to be without it. The price may seem steep at first, it did for us, but it is worth every penny. I like ordering this one because it comes with the baby jar, which is the one I use lol.

My skin loves this stuff!
I have combination dry/oily skin, which has only gotten worse with perimenopause. I had a big milia on the corner of my eyelid for about 5 years, and after 2.5 weeks of using this nightly after washing my face, the milia is completely gone. I had no idea it could do that! Has not caused any breakouts, even though adult acne has been an issue in the past. It's not cheap, but for the tiny amount I need for my whole face and neck, it's absolutely worth it.

Magic for rough and broken skin, heavy for daily use.
I like this cream for rough skin, like when you have a cold and the skin around your nose it broken and painful, wondercream! I also use it before hitting the pool on my face to protect against the harch chemicals because it does not disolve or wash off and creates a great barrier. For eveyday use the cream is a bit heavy and oily and doesn't absorbe well into the skin, it is however actual magic when dealing with rough and broken skin! 100% recommend!

Compared to Aquaphor, I like this one more
I’ve been really enjoying this cream since day 1! It’s super moisturizing but still absorbs quickly, which I didn’t expect from a balm-like texture. Once you warm it up between your fingers, it melts into the skin and leaves it soft and comfortable without that heavy, greasy feeling. I mainly use it on dry patches, lips, cuticles, and sometimes as a light face moisturizer, and it works great every time. A little goes a long way, so the jar lasts forever. Compared to Aquaphor, Egyptian Magic feels lighter and more skin-care focused. Aquaphor is thicker and more occlusive, which makes it great for very dry or cracked skin, but it can feel heavy for daily use. Egyptian Magic absorbs faster, feels more natural on the skin, and is better for everyday moisturizing, especially if you like simple, natural ingredients.

Get it.
Is there a grittier texture to this than the older formula? Yes. Does it preform and feel like the same once on your skin? Yes. It is not a bad batch or counterfeit like some people might think. Clearly they have changed the way they mix/make the cream because all of the ingredients are the same. The texture does feel different to the touch, but fine and normal once on your skin. If you have used this cream before, you will definitely feel the texture difference when you touch it, but it's completely the same as the smoother feeling cream and works the same. I was weirded out when I first felt the grittiness, but I kept using it and realized it is fine and the same as before. Also, when I say “grittiness” I don’t mean there is grit in it, it just doesn’t feel as smooth as the older version. I have ordered this multiple times and this clearly is how the cream feels now and I’m fine with it. I have been using this for years and can definitely say this stuff is great, and don’t let the new texture sway you away from buying it.

Good for Radiation
My Radiologist had this product on their approved list to use during radiation. I used it only and my skin is not getting burned during radiation. Which is wonderful especially since I am fairly skinned. This is a wonderful product and worth every penny.

I really wanted to love this stuff
After learning this product existed, I was super stoked to use up my moisturizer at the time so I could order this stuff. The reviews looked promising, and it is comprised mostly of bee-derived ingredients and I'm a sucker for anything made with honey, propolis, and royal jelly. Alas, it was not meant to be. Let me tell you about my skin: oily, but also resilient. I use maximum strength tretinoin on my face 2-3 times a week with no issue on top of salicylic acid, maximum strength vitamin C and so, so many other things. Stuff that breaks other people out or causes rashes, my face can handle no problem. But Egyptian Magic Cream was my skin's kryptonite. It broke me out and I became the proud owner of four bouncing baby blemishes all on my chin after three days of use. I ordered some vitamin C serum that I began using at the same time, so in order to find the real culprit, I stopped the Egyptian Magic Cream for a week and my complexion went back to being clear. Started using it again and I developed two more big fat red zits that will take another week to heal. I may not be a dermatologist, but I can recognize a pattern. I have never been acne prone, not even as a teenager and have never had a product break me out. Aside from this, I also noticed my cheeks looking very reddish and ruddy after using this product, almost like I was blushing. This has never happened to me before. So many people said this was a great product for oily skin, but I found it did not absorb well at all. It just sat on my skin and never soaked in, so every time I touched my face, I'd wind up with oily fingers. People swore up and down it wasn't greasy at all, but it was (I mean, olive oil is the main ingredient). While it does make a very nice lip balm, my face did not like this stuff. I reached out to the folks on Egyptian Magic to find out if maybe something else I was using could be having an interaction or if I was somehow using it incorrectly, but never got a response. I do not agree that this product is the same as Vaseline, though. I saw that in some of the reviews. Vaseline is thick and sticky, but Egyptian Magic Cream is just oil - it's not sticky or tacky and goes on smoothly. Perhaps the folks who felt it was no better than Vaseline received a bad jar? I fully understand that I am in the minority when out of 4,400+ reviews, 70 percent of them are five stars. This stuff just did not play well with my skin, for whatever reason. Maybe it was too rich or my skin just didn't like one of the ingredients, I'll never know. I took a chance on what is obviously a great product and it just didn't work out for me. I never had any reason to believe my skin couldn't handle this stuff, but there you have it. I've seen some folks say it's possible to get a fake product and I'm pretty sure mine is legitimate. I didn't want to give one star because it's nobody's fault this stuff broke me out, and the reviews speak for themselves about how well Egyptian Magic Cream works for others. But let my experience be proof that as hardy as your skin may be, everyone's skin has that one thing they really don't like.

It’s really good.
It’s not a cream. It’s more like a balm. And it’s perfect for dry hands. Use it before bed as a nighttime ritual. Your skin with thank you!

Great for winter & super dry skin only
Great for winter & super dry skin but not in a humid environment. Too oily & sticky.

Too greasy
As a first trial, I used the cream on my chapped and dry hands. Too greasy and doesn't soften the skin. I'm going back to my previous hand cream. I'm glad I bought a small jar, as, for now, I'm not a fan.
