My skin was extremely dry, irritated, sensitive, and reacting badly to a lot of products, so I needed something very simple and gentle. This cream ended up being one of the few things my skin could actually tolerate consistently. The texture is VERY thick, but surprisingly not greasy. I wouldn’t call it lightweight either, but it feels more comforting than heavy, especially when your skin feels dry and stripped. I mostly used it on damp skin after applying water or Avène Thermal Spring Water first, and it layered well with the rest of my barrier repair routine. Most importantly, it didn’t sting my skin and didn’t cause breakouts for me, which was a huge relief because my skin was reacting to almost everything at the time.
