OTC 4508 Professional Style Seal Puller - Includes 2 Hook Tip Sizes

Used this to pry out the core plugs/freeze plugs on my engine block. Drill a 3/8 hole in the plug then slip this in and pry it out. I know there are other methods like using a punch on one side of the plug to get it to flip. Tried that and it worked on all but 2 of the plugs. On one it just drove the plug deeper into the block. With my method you don't run that risk.

I don't have other seal pullers to compare nor ever used one before, that said it's well built according to my standards at least and pulled a Dana 70 hub seal, make sure don't be like me and place the hook thing between the bearing and the inner wall of the seal, otherwise it will never come out.

I would rate this item at 5 stars, but when I received the item the spare head was missing. I couldn't send it back because I needed to use the tool right away. I contacted OTC directly and they wouldn't take care of the problem because I purchased the item on Amazon. If I would have purchased directly from them they would have helped me. Overall it is an excellent product, I was able to remove my seals with minimal effort.

Needed it to remove some very stubborn seals. The seals gave out before the tool did. Not sure I could have gotten them out without it. Quick tip - put the hub back in the rim with a couple of lug nuts to help secure the hub while you remove the seals.

If you do wheel bearings, this tool is most useful for popping out the rear bearing seal. Essential tool in my kit for this job.

Perfect for the jobs I bought it for. A recent fire took most of my tools. So I'm replacing the items I frequently used in the past. Insurance covered about a third and reimburses me whenever I replace a lost item. This has proved a durable tool and a nice bargain. Since I am a retired mechanic the tools I am purchasing to replace those lost in the fire, don't need to be the name brand high dollar items I previously owned. But this could have handled those jobs as well.

Quick shipping. Definately the most sturdy seal puller ive used. This is definately a career mechanics type of seal puller. Being a mechanic and having used lots of different ones this ones just extremely heavy duty and the pick bites the seals awesome. This has already paid for itself in the time ive saved at work!
