I was not sold on rotary cutters from the first one - the design of my first meant the round blade started getting stuck in place and I had to use a ton of force to cut anything even from the get go. I was a little worried about not having quite as much protection for the blade, as this blade cover doesn't manually retract to protect the blade (or more accurately, my skin from the blade) but it has been excellent so far.
