Rabbit Style Wine Opener Corkscrew (With Professional Foil Cutter)

quality is still very poor.I received a replacement after my correspondence with the company. I found the customer service really cares and wants to make things right. However, I received a different version entirely and it operated worse than this one that is pictured. The replacement is the cheaper version,not bronze, and is 1/2 the weight of this model if it was an original rabbit opener.Unfortunately, the replacement doesn't work well at all. It is lightweight, has thin sharp edges and you can barely get the cork off. Again, I have a fantastic originl Rabbit opener I bought from Costco several years ago. Costco opener has still yet to fail and I liked it so much, I wanted another one. Costco doesn't carry them anymore so I took a chance on here. Bummer, this opener just isn't good quality.Raising to two stars only because the customer service seems to want to make things right.

It looks good, but is a very poor performer.The unit arrived with a loose cap over the screw assembly, and it was hard to make the screw enter the cork initially. Its still not as good as the unit we used for years, until it broke.Worse, the diameter of the handle that grabs the cork was a little too large, making the process of removing the cork from the corkscrew a pain.As icing on the cake, the foil cutter is a piece of pot metal junk--one of the cutter wheels fell off the first or second time we used it. I would never recommend this.After I posted my criticism, Shenkitchen promptly contacted me, and immediately sent a newer model that was better in all respects than the one I purchased, including the foil cutter. I don't think this corkscrew ranks with the best I've owned, but its acceptable, certainly. I'd give it somewhere between a 3 and 4 star rating.Given the extreme variations in the ratings that other purchasers have posted, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that my original unit was part of a defective run or a bad supplier. Certainly, their customer service is very good.

I bought this wine opener to replace a broken Rabbit wine opener and it just pushes the corks into the bottle more. I've had a cork get so stuck in the neck of the bottle that I had to literally use a drill on it (and, it of course just ended up in the wine). If the corks don't get stuck in the bottle, they get pushed all the way into the bottle and wine shoots out all over everything within a 3 foot radius. This happened about 4 of the 6 times I tried it. On the other hand, the foil cutter works well!

Horrible product. Broke first time we used it. Spend the few extra bucks and get an actual Rabbit. Not this cheap knock off.****I'm adding to my original review of one star, because the seller contacted me after my intial review. They sent an email to me asking to rectify the problem. So they sent me a new wine opener (different design) in the mail (no additional charge). Communication with them was great. They truly wanted to make sure that I was happy with them and their product. I give them a thumbs up!

The gearing has trouble. Sometimes, it will just punch the cork down into the bottle. Other times it will not extract the cork.After six months the top blew off the opener. It is threaded to allow changing the screw but the metal is cheap quality so the threading stripped. Now the opener is useless.This is a piece of trash. Poor quality metal means a failed product.

I bought this in May- and here we are in September, the foil cutter has lost two of its blades and the top of the corkscrew keeps popping off (like a champagne cork, flying wherever), rendering the thing useless. It's pretty, but I should think it would have lasted a bit longer for the price.

This is the second bottle opener I've ordered now...the first one wouldn't open the bottle, so I returned it and reordered another one. After almost two weeks another one came in and it was a cheap plastic chrome one and a crapy foil opener. Returning it again!

This does not consistently work. It regularly pushes the cork into the bottle. The foil cutter fell apart almost immediately, and now two of the little wheels that it cuts with have fallen off. I have been drinking wine for 31 years, so I know how to open a bottle of wine. The $5 corkscrew from the grocery store works better than this one.I used to own a similar product by a different company that consistently worked, so I assumed this design would be a good one.
