OMG... This fan is soooo quiet....
I freaking love this fan.... the low setting is so quiet, it can hardly be heard. I like that with the up/down, side/side oscillation when I'm sleeping. But I also love the "natural" breeze setting... Decisions.... decisions...The high speed can be felt clear across the room!BEST. TABLE. FAN. EVER!!!

I Might've Been Given a Used Fan
Item arrived earlier than expected, which was a plus. I had no idea this was a UK model, thankfully I already had a power adapter in my possession. I happily plugged the fan in to see how it worked, and on the first setting the blades barely moved. Second, third setting did little to improve the speed(let alone the fact that it was not moving any air)At the highest setting you got a little breeze. It does not rotate, it sounded like it wanted to rotate. This is what prompted me to inspect the fan in case I missed a locking mechanism and I discovered the scuff marks all over the neck of the fan.It is starting to seem to me that I paid over $200 for a used, defective fan. Buyer beware.

Really great fan
This fan is great! I only just recieved it today and immediately plugged it in to try. Since it's such a pricey item, especially for a fan given the current economy, I've tried to add as much as I can to this review. The highest setting is incredibly powerful, with the lowest seting providing a soft breeze and the highest being like a wind tunnel! Much better than my tower fan, and very quiet. At the highest setting, you're obviously going to get some noise, but nothing like my tower fan.It has two rotating features, left and right and up and down. You can have one or the other on, or both, which makes the fan move around and blow air all over. The manual even shows diagrams of optimal placement for various needs and comes with a warranty. If you use the rotate features, best to place it on a flat surface, since you risk it toppling if it's on something say grass, sheets etc.The best feauture, for me, is the breeze feature. It's a button which, when pressed, provides a very soft breeze, which changes in intensity (so very soft to around level 1 on the fan) for a few moments. It's really nice when working on a pc to have a constant subtle breeze that is occasionally a little stronger. The fan itself is average weight to a little weighty, depending on your physical capabilities. Since it's a spherical fan, it has a little carry handle in the back, but depending on your physical capabilities, switching it off and picking it up from beneath the sphere (around its 'neck') works fine too. It's got a decent amount of cord, and it's small enough to fit on a desk, so ideal to take into work if you need to or have it on the coffee table, etc. The design is also very sleek and unobtrusive. It comes with a remote that you could probably put on a key chain or string to keep safe, as it's got a little hole in the side, which I think it quite a considerate feature if you lose remotes a lot! The remote must be pointed directly at the fan to work, so simply pressing it in another room, for example, will not work. If you lose the remote though, it has all features on the base of the fan, which is very sturdy. All in all, an absolutely brilliant purchase and I'm really delighted with it.

Very good but
I did lots of research before I chose this fan. It is for my bedroom to have near my bed. I have health issues which mean that at times I am far too hot and at other times far too cold, so I need to make sure I can cool myself down or be warmer when needed, easily and quickly. It has taken me some time to get this sorted! The fan is essential at times. It is quiet, powerful and I love the way it can oscillate. But remember that some of the oscillating is sending up the help to the ceiling and places of no or not much benefit to you. This would work better if in the middle of a room full of people.IF I had to nit pick and find something negative it would be these things - it is expensive for what it is - but it is impossible to get one similar and as powerful cheaper - I could have bought an ordinary fan for a quarter of the price or less. The timer settings - would be nice if you had more choice, you can have 2 hours, 4 hours or 8 hours. Why not 3 or 5 or am I just being greedy? Look wise it is nice but my bedroom is white so it would have looked better if all white rather than a large black face. It is modern looking so would not fit into an old fashioned room. My pedestal fan is all white so blends in better. I don't regret buying it and would rave about it more if it were cheaper. You pay a lot extra for the oscillating, so don't bother if you do not need that. You have a choice of three versions. This is the most expensive one because it covers a larger room. If you are only buying one for a small room you can save yourself some money and get the cheapest version. On the lowest setting is it very quiet but if you put it up you would not be able to sleep because of the noise. We bought a different fan for our lounge, it was cheaper and far more powerful but also bigger. You have a remote control.

Well built and compact, but noisy
The fan looks well designed and built, with convenient remote control. It is also very compact.Which I guess is the only reason its exisence is justified. It's very noisy related to the amount of air it pushes.Even cheap conventional fans beat it hands down. Depending on speed:- speed 1 - it's indeed almost silent but the air flow is small for anything except desk placement- speed 2 - that is how I use it - noise still OK and air flow useable- speed 3 - noise is still bearable but already distracting, and gets unpleasant character of working engine- speed 4,5 - I would only use in in factory settings, very loud.4 stars for the case when the size is critical, otherwise I don't recommend it.

BB8 decorative
I love the shape and for its size it's quite powerful. It is not quite. At a lower speed it's a gentle hum which is great I can hear the TV well. At speed 5-6 it's loud enough that I have to increase the TV volume. 7 and up very noisy. Was it worth buying. It's pricey but if this fan last a long time it might turn out to be a investment as it's using a D/C it's more energy efficient. It's the remote control and possible energy saving that sealed the deal.Just disappointed that it's very noisy at speed 7& above....
