Easy break in
Purchased two of these gloves, a 10” for my four year old in tee ball and a 10.5” for my child in coach pitch. When the gloves arrived they were easy for an adult to close but too stiff for a child, after about an hour of breaking in (without leather conditioner nor oil) the gloves were suitable for the kids. The palm of the glove has great flexibility and after breaking in this flexibility does not affect the pocket’s shape. The gloves are very durable and have lasted through a season and a half (two games, two practices, and playing catch per week) and still look brand new.Great glove for the low price and the leather quality (all leather, no plastic areas) feels really nice especially when compared to other youth gloves in this price range.

Best First Catchers Mitt
I have tried out at least a half a dozen youth catchers mitts for my very small nine year old. From ranging from $60-$120. This one was the best combination of quality and usability. For a young player, minor AA and younger this is the ideal catchers mitt and comes about 80% broken in. It has the right size, palm and finger stalls. My son felt the most comfortable right out of the box with this glove. In comparison, to several others, I would offer this: the Rawlings Renegade is the best value at about 55 bucks however while very robust it’s also about 3oz heavier than the Mizuno and Wilson. The Rawlings is a good glove and would’ve kept it had my son been a little bigger and stronger. The Wilson A500 is similar to the Mizuno in that it’s lighter and more “broken in” than the Rawlings due to its thinner construction. It’s a little bit more expensive than the Mizeo, but my son liked the Mizuno better. He was more confident catching with the Mizuno right out of the box. The Wilson is also good for smaller, younger catchers. Akadema Prodigy ($120) is a well-made glove that will need a little more traditional breaking in. It was too big for a small 9yo. The All Star Pro Comp ($120) is clearly the best of the bunch in terms of build quality and durability. It’s a more pro style mitt that will need considerable break-in (similar to pro-stock level) and meant for older youth players (even into HS) and way too big and heavy for 11 or younger (except the bigger of bunch). Once broken in it expect this to big a very durable long lasting mitt. The Mizuno ($70) seems to be the best fit for newer/smaller catchers. Be aware that the inside palm area is black leather. The color will stain and rub off in your hands and discolor the lighter areas of the glove through use and definitely while applying glove conditioner. Does not affect the performance at all. Just an FYI.

Perfect size for T-Ball to Minor division, age range from 4 to 9.
This glove is designed for average growing hands. I have T-ball to Minor divisions, in which this glove will fit the average growing hands. For the ones with large hands, big boned/big body players, you definitely need to invest in 33 or larger. Even 32 won't fit properly. Way too snug.Brand new out of the box, the glove will create quite a bit of bounce. Many indicated before me that the palm padding will cause the balls to bounce out, until it's completely broken in. We noticed this on our first usages for various players. Even the stronger players had a hard time securing the balls in the pocket after catching them. The Power Close design is excellent for an immediate usages of the glove, without first breaking it in, like a normal glove. Even the weakest player (skinniest 4 years old, just starting out), could snap that glove together without much effort.Padding is perfect, from the fingers to the palm. I throw fastballs to my boy during personal practice hours, ranging between the mild 40mph, to the 70mph. Slight stings to his index finger and thumb exceeding 60mph, but paired up with the All Star Youth 7 Inner Glove, he is able to hand all speed above 60mph with no sting.I've applied a bit of Neatsfoot Compound oil, used a DIY baseball glove mallet, proceeded with 500 strong impacts between the pocket to palm areas of the glove. Wrapped the glove with the ball overnight, then tested with players again. Still had the bounce. Added another 600 strong impacts after practice, wrapped up overnight, and voila, perfect break in. As the glove continued to add another 200 to 300 hundred more strong impacts during practice, the glove became perfect. So, my suggestion is, once you have the glove, break it in immediately with the glove mallet and with a bit of conditioning oil/cream. Minimal is 1000 strong impacts to the glove's pocket-palm area to remove as much of the bounce out of the glove as possible. This glove is perfect as a transitional glove for growing catchers. Inexpensive, great with abuses, easy to manage right out of the box. With a bit of TLC, it performs splendidly.

Best glove (for 9-11yr olds) EVER
Don't get it twisted, not the best overall glove ever, but 100% best glove for 9-11yr old. This glove is ready to go straight out of the box. No need to break it. Game day and practice days will do that. My son has gone through 2 of these in 2.5 yrs. The picture is of his 1st glove. The lace broke after 18months and played over 100 games and practices. I would say that's a great glove. For beginnings or advanced players (way better for infielders) this is the glove to go with.
