Light weight, rigid tape won't flex when extended far, (200cm) very fast recoil, slick.
I love this little tape measure. It is lightweight and somewhat compact, has a nice rigid tape that won't flex when extended far, (i got to about 200cm before it bent under its own weight), very fast recoil. I wish they made one with inches as feet as well, but for now i'm just doing the conversions. I wish metric was used in America for carpentry, it is so much easier to work with IMO.

Shinwa metric tape measure
Excellent quality. Tape is printed on both sides for vertical and horizontal measurements. Bright and easy to read.

Easy to read! Incredibly smooth operation!
I decided to drop imperial and switch to metric and WOWEE I’ll never look back (unless I don’t have this tape measure handy)! Just goes to show how ignorant we Americans are to stay with such a ridiculous system of measurement. Being precise within 1 mm is so simple when working with a whole number! How people can cut accurately within a 32nd or 64th is beyond my skill level as a hobbyist maker. The tape measure is incredibly simple. No jumbled mess of fractions, red numbers, black numbers, alien symbols, or whatever else you see on other tape measures. I understand those all have a purpose for SOMEONE, but not for me. I have used this tape quite a lot and although it doesn’t feel as stout as say my Stanley fat max tape, it has chugged right along with zero issues. I put a caliper to the shifting tip and it’s very close to 1mm of shift. I think the feed out test is stupid so I haven’t tried it.If you’re tired of feeling like a math class failure and want to significantly increase the level of precision of which you can measure and build, buy this tape. America may be awesome at monster trucks, bald eagles, winning past world wars, and freedom; but we suck at measuring. Metric is better.

Not made in Japan
I was expecting it to be made in Japan. It was in the description. It's very misleading. Fair quality.

This tape measure is not magnetic even though it is advertised as such.
Clearly advertised as a magnetic tape measure. That is a lie

Good Metric Only Tape
I live in the United States. I wanted a metric measure tape, but was having a hard time finding one. So far, I'm very happy with this one.
