High quality construction and has a great feel in my hands, it is bigger than expected so take a moment to measure your pots to see if this will work with them. I would have gotten the smaller size if I had done that since I can only use this with one of my pots now (my fault). the long handle is especially useful and makes the product a little safer if you are using it to collect food from fry oil, the extra length can really help cut down on burns from "oil popping".I recommend this product, and won't buy it again (because I fully expect it to last a lifetime).

I had accidentally purchased the large size and wasn’t sure if I wanted that, but I have found several uses for it already and love it. For example, I was cooking a large pot of vegetables and this strainer was perfect to lift items out. I can also wash my blueberries in it. Awesome tool to have in the kitchen.

If you are frying you have to have this! The lightweight design keeps food in the basket while allowing oil and water to drain off so quickly. Ever drained fried or boiled food and by the time you're done what's in the pot is overcooked? No more with this handy tool! The 7 inch basket is enough to scoop and dain everything in your pot at once (because you should be cooking in batches anyhow right?) Perfect for delicate foods. I've used this for German dumplings, fried shrimp, beer battered fish, fries, and even pasta. Nothing compares to the versatility of this kitchen tool.

This appears to be well made, however i do have some issue with the strainer. It is simply much too large for me. I only own one pot that it will fit in, which is my stewing pot (for making broth/stock/etc). I did buy this to grab noodles out of a pot - however for me it will be useless for that purpose. I would have likely been better off with the 5'' one, but that one is currently sold out.

Realistically, I probably should have gone with the five inch spider. This thing is HUGE! But, considering I wanted it specifically for dealing with deep fried foods, draining stock, and bean retrieval (from soaking), it is exactly right. I particularly like the long long handle keeping me away from hot spattering oil and the fact it is securely welded to the basket. Quite sturdy and well made.Actually, I'll probably order the five inch one now for smaller stuff.

A necessary tool for those times when you need a big strainer for pasta like ziti, dumplings, and vegetables, or anything you need to removed from cooking pot. I like that it can go in the dishwasher since is all metal. It looks well constructed.

This works excellent!!! We are using this for our weekly fish fries to bring the fillets up out of the batter, it holds so many & we save so much time now--LOVE IT!! They were using this stupid ice skimmer thing that the fillets kept sliding off of, now we just leave this in the batter, lift them all up & then lay them down into the breading to coat before frying!

Sturdy, easy to use. Great little tool!
