JBL Tuner 2 Portable Radio, Bluetooth Speaker with DAB and FM Radio, 12 Hours of Wireless Music, Black

There are cheaper Bluetooth speakers out there, but this one has FM and DAB tuners built-in, which makes it a great radio as well. The sound is well-balanced; just slightly bassy for speech, though entirely acceptable. For music it's great for a device of this size - you don't feel you're missing anything. Good volume without any distortion; clear at low volume. Battery life is great - I've used it every day for four weeks without having to recharge (when the battery symbol starts flashing). Waterproof. Good Bluetooth sensitivity despite the older Bluetooth 4. Quibbles? The buttons are black on black, so hard to see in poor lighting, though you get used to where they are and your fingers can feel them. I'd have valued the option to pause the Bluetooth source from the device, though it stops my podcast app rather than diverts it when you power the speaker down. Limited info in the display, compared with a full-size DAB radio. Overall, still five-star. Satisfying to use.

Great sound from such a compact device. In 2 mins , DAB and FM stations found and BT enabled. Very please with this purchase, also looks and feels like a quality piece of kit and waterproof to boot. Well done JBL 👍

This is a genuinely stunning product. The sound quality is off the scale compared to my last DAB Radio. It is loud enough to fill a room and the clarity is absolutely superb. The bass never ceases to amaze from a unit no bigger than a beer can and it is not lacking at all in top end detail. Whilst the sound quality can't be faulted the speaker is not quite perfect (perhaps 97% perfect). It is more a Bluetooth speaker that contains a radio than the other way around. This means that it lacks things that some DAB buyers might want: for example it has no clock, alarm or sleep timer. It is also a bit more expensive than most run of the mill DABs but then it is not run of the mill in any way. The Blutetooth connectes effortlessly and works perfectly with every device I have tried. The sound quality here is also very good and compares very favourably with similarly priced Bluethooth only speakers. There are better sounding Bluetooth only speakers at much higher price points but not one with built in DAB and FM. If you are looking for a DAB and don't mind there being no alarm or sleep timer: don't hesitate. If you are looking for a bluetooth speaker at this price point: don't hesitate. You'll be hard pushed to get greater volume or better sound quality and with this one you get a DAB Radio. What's not to like?

Update review. I called jbl who went through with me how to update the software. To check your radio has the current software press 1 and 5 and it should give you software version. The latest ends 208. When I pressed it after update it gave two software versions. The initial and the latest I had updated. You need a PC or mac to do this. With software update (from jbl website) I notice an improvement in Sound improved (still not as good as clip 4 sound but it's better than before) Reception improved Lcd display is crisp with bright white detail (before it was awful display) battery life improved No longer need the ariel raised fully No more "no signal" Sound is clearer without being low heavy missing mids and high sounds. Before it gave me a headache to listen to. It's robust. Only saves 5 dab and 5 fm stations. While improved battery the lack of knowing how much % charge isn't as much of an issue. In fairness amazon were good and gave me full refund and I didn't have to return (it was already a return) but my review update is not based on that. I presume last person returned for same reason. If you have problems. Check the software that you have by pressing 1 and 5 at the same time. If it doesn't end 208 update the software on jbl site it should vastly improve the radio. My original review. am not sure if it is because I bought from amazon warehouse. I had high expectations for this little radio. I had bought a different radio. Which was great but lacked bass and depth. Which was fine for talk radio but annoying for music. Moving onto this radio. I own the clip 4, so wanted a radio that gave the same sound. That little speaker is great. Perfect to me sound. However I was disappointed with this radio. First of all it says battery life 12 hours. It is lucky to get 4 hours. Sound quality sure it has more bass even than my clip 4. But it's an annoying bass. There is a lack of highs. And it gave me a headache listening to it. Duff duff duff... I like clarity of music. But i was disappointed that this was lacking. The screen seems limited for 2024. It's not very visible would imagine that this would be worse outdoors in sunshine. There is no way to know how charged it is. As you just get a battery icon. Which suddenly drops. I have no clue how much charge is in there. This is annoying. The plus is it is robust. Made of a rubber type material. It is water proof. It's good that it has aux connection to connect to another device. But you can only save 5 dab and 5 fm stations. Scrolling through stations isn't the best either. It is fairly intuitive to use though. There is no way to adjust the sound. No app. No equaliser. So you are stuck with the same duff duff duff lacking quality of sound. Another downside is it has poor radio reception. Many channels that are fine on a cheap radio, on this radio is fuzzy sound or can't get a signal unless the ariel is pulled right up. Even my old pure radio didn't need full extension of radio. Neither does the one half the price of this radio. The radio is pure quality. With weak signal. I expect better from a radio that cost over 70. For some reason when you put your hand on the radio the fuzz sound seems to disappear. Maybe I just have a faulty unit. It was from amazon warehouse, so likely someone else sent it back for the same reason. It lacks features. While it can go loud. Audio quality isn't great or balanced. Battery life is nowhere near the advertised 12 hours. More like 4 and a half. That's listening quarter of the volume. This unit also came late and I had to chase amazon. I am so disappointed. I hoped it would have similar sound quality as jbl clip 4 speaker at least. But it simply doesn't. I felt underwhelmed and disappointed. I think the battery life was nowhere near the advertised life. Not even half that. Sound quality wasn't great. Radio signal unless you pull ariel right up is poor. But it could be the unit that I bought from amazon warehouse. I am disappointed as I bought a case for it too.

I needed a small but decent-sounding radio, and specifically wanted a USB-C version for charging. The JBL hit the mark and I can confirm that for the size, it's got a decent sound and is super simple to use. It looks lovely being all one colour, however, this does make seeing the buttons a little tough and you find yourself angling it in the light to work out what you're wanting to press. Sound is great for this size, better than the portable Pure and Sony radios that sound tinny, whereas this has a bit more depth to it. The only real bug bear for me is the battery. It basically lasts a day (8-12 hours-ish) on a charge, which is absolutely fine, I just wish it was a little better like some of the previous DAB portables I've used. As if you have it running with some volume all day, you may find you'll need to plug it in before the day is out. It's a minor gripe though, as I think this is a great little radio overall, takes up no room and looks better than the alternatives out there.

That was my request exactly, as i was looking for a digital radio and bluetooth speaker with good quality sound , i saw some reviews about it, received it and i’m very delighted about the product

Not a powerful Bluetooth speaker. Still excellent sound for radio use. DAB nice to have.

Radio d'excellente qualité. La FM et le DAB fonctionnent très bien. Le son est surprenant. L'appairage bluetooth est fonctionnel. L'autonomie est correcte et la recharge par USB rapide. Elle me suit du bureau à la cuisine en passant par le garage et l'abri de jardin. Mon fils a flashé dessus, donc je lui en ai acheté une.
