The Jesus I Never Knew Study Guide: Revealing What 2,000 Years of History Have Covered Up Paperback – June 16, 1997

I had read the book; was so pleased to discover the accompanying study guide. The study guide provides a good review of each chapter; thought-provoking questions; and related Bible passages to reflect on. Right now, a Christian friend and I are reading the book, a chapter each time, and using the study guide to gain more insight into the message of each section of the book. I highly recommend this guide to go along with the excellent book.

This book is great for small groups or Sunday school, or even personal study. (I recommend getting the study helps for group use.)We have so many misconceptions about who Jesus really was, so Philip Yancy uses a different perspective to help us see the real Jesus. He looks at Jesus' teachings, his life, his death and resurrection from His historical and "Jewish" perspective, reminding us that Jesus was not the image we see in most Hollywood movies. It will stimulate discussion and invites you to really meet "The Jesus you never knew."

This small study guide provided great discussion questions as well as chapter summaries. it also included recommended uses for the movies that Yancey used in his original study of Jesus, as well as, the time cues so you don't have to spend hours scanning the movies for the necessary clip. If you are teaching through this book and want to integrate the video clips and group discussion, then I'd strongly recommend getting this study guide.

Philip Yancey brings us to a new level of depth to Christ's suffering and purpose to his ministry of only 3 years. For those already working on their spiritual journey in Christ, we are only inspired to do more!

I didn't read closely enough or was confused but I was actually looking for the workbook that goes with the video series. I am going to keep this study guide since it has a lot of good information that goes with the book (which we also have). Love the book and the video series. This study guide just enhances the learning.

Studying this book with my Sunday School class. This one is the cliff notes. You may want to buy the original book ... but WONDERFUL and leads to great insight, reflection, and discussion.

This is one of the best books I've ever read - in any genre! It made me think in entirely new ways. I have quite a few of Phillip Yancey's books after reading this one and I'm making my way through them little by little. Loved this book.

We created a 13 week study based on this book and this study guide. Everyone enjoyed the study greatly. We purchased the study guide to go with the book.
