It feels solid and sturdy in hand and inspires confidence right away. I have been using it with an S25 Ultra and it holds the phone securely without wobble. Ulanzi did a great job designing this to be flexible in many scenarios. It works well on its own as a compact mini tripod, but it also shines when attached to a full size tripod, camera rig, or boom arm using the standard one quarter thread. The cold shoe is a very useful addition, making it easy to add a microphone or LED light for video or content creation. The adjustable clamp is easy to use and supports a wide range of phone sizes. Unlocking the extension is simple, and the side knob allows precise tightening of the jaws. The rubberized grip holds the phone firmly in place. The rear knob allows for smooth angle adjustments, and the full rotation makes switching between portrait and landscape effortless. When used standalone, the small support piece that slides into the base adds stability and is held securely by a magnet. At extreme angles it can tip over, which is expected for a compact setup like this. After long term use, the only minor issue I have seen is the magnet for the support piece eventually coming loose, something that looks easily fixable with glue. Overall this is a well built, versatile, and thoughtfully designed mount that works great for mobile photography and video. It is compact, portable, and a great value for the quality you get.

Ulanzi created a great product, especially with it being metal instead of plastic. It's a solid and sturdy product that can be used alone or in various other scenarios such as attached on a tripod, on a camera rig, a boom arm, etc thanks to it's versatility. The 1/4 thread option makes the mount compatible with other products. To use this alone, there is a small piece that slides out and inserts into the base for more stability. The piece is magnetic and held in place very well. The mount can hold phones of many different screen sizes as it has the ability to unlock an extension if necessary. It's easy to use as the extension has a switch with the lock symbol on one side and unlock on the other. There is a knob on the opposite side of the extension that allows for expanding and contracting the jaws. There is another knob on the back of the mount that allows for adjusting the angle. While this is a great feature, especially if this mount is attached to a tripod or something similar, it can tip over if it's used alone depending on the angle. I've had this product for a couple of years and the only minor issue that occurred was the magnet for the supporting piece only recently fell out. I did find it and I believe it can be put back in place using glue, but I haven't tried.

Like most Ulanzi products, this is solid and the design is very functional. A little constructive feedback {don't get me wrong, this mount is great and well worth getting, but these are things I personally have thoughts on) *No Manual - It's not rocket science, but a couple of things I had to "figure out" *Not sure why the extension is needed to fit larger phones-- other mounts do it without the need for the extension mechanism. Maybe it makes it sturdier. Not sure. *The desktop support leg is nice, but there's another mount that was able to provide the same function with an attached piece that swung out vs a separate piece (which could be lost). Also, the magnets that held that piece in place weren't attached to the mount well and cause me a little confusion as there were 2 extra magnets and I didn't know why. Until the piece didn't ever stay in place. Figured out eventually that they were supposed to be attached to the mount. *The knob to tighten the mount could probably be a dial (like with the ballhead) to reduce footprint. This may be a functional issue because all other like mounts do the same. But, one could probably still apply enough torque to tighten the mount with a dial.

This review is for the ULANZI (Ironman III) ST-14 Smartphone Tripod Mount Adapter Aluminum with Cold Shoe, 360° Cell Phone Stand Holder Clamp for iPhone 12 11 Max Pro iPhone X XR Xs 6 7 Plus purchased in June of 2021 for $37.99. Quite possibly the most expensive mobile phone tripod mount available on Amazon but is it worth it? It seems that all the mobile phone tripod mounts are either ultra-cheap plastic or high-end metal with nothing in between. The Ulanzi is definitely on the high end. Extremely solid metal construction, and will fit an iPhone 12 Pro Max with case. I imagine the Ulanzi will fit ANY smartphone currently on the market. Has a cold shoe mount, pull-out stabilizer foot for when set on a flat surface, and an articulating ball head joint that will allow the phone to swivel in any direction. I really like having the stabilizing foot for when I set the phone on a table, and the fully articulating ball head is very nice to have. The lock and knob mechanism to clamp the smartphone is a bit cumbersome, and I wish the Ironman III just came with a simple spring loaded two-knob clamping mechanism. I like that the Ulanzi supports the Arca quick release mounts. Positives * Solid metal construction. * Stabilizer foot. * Cold shoe. * Fully articulating ball head joint. * Fine-tune tightener knobs to secure the phone. * Supports tripod quick release mounting and unmounting (Arca Mount). Negatives * Expensive * Stabilizer foot is detachable and therefore can be lost. So, is it worth $37.99? Depends. Do you lose stuff often? If so, this mount may not be for you. I think a cheaper but still good alternative is the SHINEWEE Metal Phone Tripod Mount, iPhone Tripod Adapter priced at $26.99 ($11 cheaper than the ULANZI). Keep in mind, however, the SHINEWEE doesn't come with a cold shoe.

Very robust and well built. A quality product. Used on IPhone 14 Pro Max with an Otter box case, fit well with ease.

You can see and feel the quality of this product from the moment you take it out of the box. It’s 100% aluminum, nothing here is plastic. It’s seems very durable, sleek and functioning product. It looks and feels like a high end product that’s made in Italy. Clamps on smartphones with ease and has a ball head that makes rotation positioning very simple and quick. Also comes with a magnetic hidden desk top support leg that can hold a heavy smartphone in place without tipping over. I have it mounted on a Ulanzi MT-24 tripod (sold separately) and it’s a perfect combination of form and function. I will definitely highly recommend this clamp to anyone who’s looking for a well made, durable and clean looking design. See attached pics, last one is with the tripod I mentioned (sold separately).

All metal, no plastic. This is a very well-made and engineered piece of photographic equipment, especially considering the price. Easy to set up and use on an Arca-Swiss style ball swivel, fitting perfectly, sliding on and off with ease. Haven't used it in the field, but setting it up and playing around with it at home, there should be no problems. Done correctly, everything locks down tight. There a few comments about the desktop support leg, mentioning that theirs don't sit flat and tend to lean forward a bit due to looseness. Once stable, these folks had no problems with stability. The one I got is firm right out of the box with no tendency to lean. Perhaps Ulanzi addressed this issue in newer shipments. My only concern about the desktop leg, is when it's placed in its slot when not in use and is under rough handling of the tripod, it may come loose and fall out. It seems secure enough, but again, I haven't yet tested it out in the field. I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 fitted with a rubber case that makes the phone pretty thick. I have no problems securing the phone in its clamp, as it opens up very wide. This is one of the reasons I picked the Ulanzi over others I was comparing it to. Plus, it looks Très chichi.

Había comprado otro de la misma marca pero me costaba mucho poner el celular porque el agarre era de estirar y si lo soltabas se iba como elástico. Devolví y compré este, que sí, es más caro que el primero que pero el agarre maltrata mucho menos el celular y tiene para ajustar y hacer presión de forma manual y delicada. La bola permite también mover el celular al ángulo que uno necesite y los materiales son metálicos, se siente firmes, de buena calidad y duraderos. Es compatible con mi trípode Neewer.

Heat duty mount

I’ve had this phone clamp holder now for about six months and it’s held up really well. I really like it that you can tighten it down really nicely with a screw so that way there’s no chance that your phone will fall out with other cheap clams. that was always an issue. I’ve dropped my phone before with the cheap clamps and I decided to invest in this more expensive one made out of metal so far I have never had an issue with my phone falling out and I love the idea of having a cold shoe on top so I can put a light or a microphone up there . Definitely recommend this product.
