Impressive
If I am completely honest I have always been a little wary of these budget type of earphones, after all how good can these affordable Chinese earphones really be when we are constantly told that the best are so much more expensive? So more out of curiosity than anything else I decided to try these. Seven BA’s and one DD models, impressive specifications even if the sound isn’t, right?Well, all I can say is that I was blown away with the sound of these. I am not an audiophile so I would not try to use the language audiophiles use to describe the sound, but I do know what I like. I would describe the sound as exciting, entertaining, vibrant and involving. In fact exactly what I want when I listen to music. I must add that I also own some pretty expensive earphones from manufacturers like Shure, so I can compare them to some fairly highly rated units.Given these KZ’s are also comfortable, look good and even the cable has a nicer feel than the one on my Shure earphones, I can only say that I should probably have saved my money and not bought the Shure earphones in the first place, but then you don’t know until you try I suppose. In conclusion, I doubt these will be the last pair of Chinese earphones I buy.

Lovely but leaky
The product is a 5 star, especially where value is considered as a primary factor. My review can only provide 4 stars because the isolation is not ideal. Yes, I knew it was an open back design when I bought it, but this feels very "open" even by those standards. I'm experienced with much better isolating IEMs. With the ideal use case scenario, these are deserving of tops marks for their sound, comfort, design and cost. I just don't think there are many ideal use case scenarios for a product.

Pretty good but gets a bit shrill after a while
These were the first IEMs I tried and I was initially bowled over. Such detail, such powerful bass. I couldn’t believe the sound quality for the price. But this detail comes at a price - after a while this sparkling high end becomes very shrill and taxing on the ears. You get what you pay for I suppose, and these were so good that they made me want upgrade (which I have, to the FIIO FH3). Very good though, and quite remarkable how technology has come on these past few years.

Very short cable and slipper eartips
The cable is meant to be 1.2m long. It is only 70cm from jack to the Y part of the cable. It is 1.2m from end to end only. Too short.Tips are too slippery and won't stay in. It needs foam eartips.

Brilliance at a budget
Bought these a few weeks back as I do a lot of DJ sets so wanted to try mixing with IEM's to see what they were like. And I have to say, being able to hear all the highs and mids in the tracks has vastly improved the hearing experience, resulting in clearer transitions between tracks. Fantastic product.

Stunning sound, best I have ever had!
I have several pairs of KZ in ears, including the AS10 and pro and ZS10 Pro I also have two pairs of Shure SE425's and a pair of Shure SE535's and these KZ-ZAX are miles better than any of them, the bass is deep and rounded and the mid/vocal range nicely placed, with the upper treble not at all nasty or rasping. Everyones ears are different, and sound is basically highly subjective. I like the Shure rotating connectors MMCX but these two pin standard KZ connectors are reliable and the cable easy and cheap to replace if needed. I use them with many music sources as I have a very large diverse music collection, and to listen when playing my Roland V- drums, and they are the only iem that gives me a great kick drum. I've read and watched several reviews some of which being subjective are plain wrong in my experience, some of what they describe is really nonsense, - is it a V shaped or a U shaped frequency response curve.... blah blah - I think the writers are trying to show how clever they are and how wonderful their hearing is. That's why they write such tosh, so buy a pair and make up your own mind. I did and these are my absolute favorites now. I also have Bose QC 35II, Beyer DT100 and Beyer DT770 over ear cans, so I have a lot to compare them with. I don't usually leave reviews, but these are worth the trouble. Just my opinion.........
