Starting with a brief history of terra sig, how to make it, how to use it and then several chapters on an ever deepening way how some very creative people make use of it themselves. She took the time to research the images she uses of other's work and gives the nerdy info we crave in ceramic books; clay body types, finishes used and firing temps. It's always there. I've successfully made and used a couple different recipes from the book. It's a great reference tool and gave clear guidance. In a couple instances the publisher stumbled with matching the numbered descriptions of a process with the photos. You need to turn the page here and there to see the photo of a sequence that is being described. The illustrations and layout are really beautiful with plenty of valuable information on this technique that dates back to the 1500s. Rating: 5 stars Although the book arrived in good time, it wasn't in the best condition and had been somewhat damaged in transit; disappointing given that I bought it as a gift.
