Jansal Valley Dried Peaches, 1 Pound

I ordered these before any reviews had been posted, but noticed since I ordered these that a negative review has appeared. I strongly feel the opposite of that reviewer, that no better dried peaches than these are commercially available, at least to my knowledge. The dried peaches I have been able to most easily find at retail lately are from Trader Joe's. a brand that I find overly moist. These Jansal peaches are actually fully DRIED, so they are less moist and more chewy. It's been many years since I've found any close to this good.I suspect tastes will differ on these, as they seem to for the pears, because they are not done in the typical gooey-sugary style. Said one reveiwer for the pears:"These are absolutely the best dried pears I have ever eaten. I don't know what happened to the first reviewer's order, but don't be afraid to try these." I feel exactly the same here.

Bought two sample brands/packs, and these were the lesser of the two - by far. Admittedly, a limited sample -but over 90% in my pack were Green/Tasteless/Not Ripe when picked and dried. Also had a much stronger sulfur smell / taste. Fortunately, the other brand in my test was the exact opposite -with mostly GOOD peaches/flavor. Not definitive, but with such a big difference in quality, I will be avoiding this brand in the future.

After eating some really excellent died peaches from somewhere else, I decided I wanted to add them to my subscribe and save list on Amazon. I was less than enthralled with the selection, but I decided to give these a try.Well, next time I'll just buy some from the grocery store, or possibly try one of the more expensive (and not subscribe and save eligible) kinds from Amazon. The taste was so-so, the texture distinctly rubbery rather than pleasantly chewy, but the real turn-off is the smell. I've read this complaint about some other dried peaches, and they weren't kidding. If you must eat these, I recommend doing so while avoiding breathing in. And actually, if you can get past the smell, they're okay, which is why they are two stars rather than three... but you have to be pretty hungry to manage.

OMG they are delicious. I love dried peaches and I have such a difficult time finding them in the stores. I was delighted to find them on Amazon and even happier still with the excellent quality and flavor. I started out ordering one package and in less then a month I increased it to three packages and I'm going to up it again this coming month. Yes, yes I like them.

Very plump and fresh. Chewy as expected, but not overly dried out. Very satisfied with this fiber addition to our diet. I intend to increase our regular subscription on this item.

As good as the very expensive ones. Arrived on time and I was thrilled to have found an option for dried peaches once I realized the Trader Joe’s were seasonal.

The smell of these dried peaches is horrendous. I can't stomach eating any of them. I'm incredibly disppointed.

Unbearable sulphur/rotten smell. It came through even as I was putting it into the composter.
