DC1700 Portable Air Cleaner 3 Fan Variable Speed

It’s actually closer to six years I’ve had this operating in my carving shop. It operates as it should, every day. Filters are a tight fit and I seal them with masking tape to close any gaps. The Velcro has been glued on a few times. I’m really very happy and recommend this to anyone who power carves. I mostly work in bone and antler, and combine this with a high quality filter face mask. Great piece of kit.

The delivery on this came in less than week. The packing was very good so there wasn't any damage. The item description only shows the back of the box with the fans, but the front holds the air filter which fits snugly in place, and there's three pieces of plexi that you attach with velcro that forms a nice vacuum area. I use this for power-carving my bird carvings on soft basswood. The sawdust gets pulled into the filter extremely well. Fans are reasonably quiet and strong. I'm very happy with this. It's a good little machine for the money.

requires better fitting filters. It would also be nice if it had a kit you could add to vent dust somewhere other then out the back. It is loud. Not the greatest tool, especially for the price.

This unit works great for what it is intended. I have it sitting on the back of a down draft table and between the two most of the dust is collected. One of the three fans makes a bit of noise on start up, so it makes me wonder if there's a problem with it and there is no way to store the plexiglass panels Otherwise I would give the unit 5 stars.

I would have given this a 5 star rating if I could find a replacement filter #DC1700F or the optional: #DC1 700FW Electrostatic washable filter. I have checked online as well as the big box hardware stores.After 1 month of almost daily use, I am very satisfied with how the Oasis dust collector collects dust from my power carving. It is a great addition to my small work area - a partitioned of section of a guest bedroom. With it small foot print, it easily fits on my small carving desk and does a great job pulling the finer wood particles into the filter. Heavier particles are pulled towards the filter and drop before reaching it, preventing the wood dust from scattering everywhere, significantly - in other words there is almost nothing to clean up outside of the plexiglass enclosure. The Oasis dust collector draws a lot of air and is a bit on the noisy side (about 80 decibels) so I wear ear protection most of the time.

Very well made. I am a wood carver and stained glass window maker and this machine does everything I want it to do. This DC1700 was made for small area placement work,not for large area air cleaning. It's fairly quiet after it gets up to speed. It works best on high. It has storage in the side for the power cord and a handle on the top for carrying the unit. This is a well built very nice machine that I feel will last a long time if taken care of. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting an air cleaning system for a small area.

The basic machine was made well however, the directional flow flaps looked like an after thought. Because they fell apart after my second use of the machine I returned the machine for a refund. The upside was I got very good customer service from the company. I wish the dust collector was as good as their service!
