Parrish Magic Line 6 x 3 Aluminum Cake Ring

I purchased this cake ring after receiving the Momofuku cookbook as a gift. If you've perused the book, you know that there are a lot of "extras" that one has to purchase in order to make almost any of the recipes inside. This cake ring is pretty much a perfect circle (the welded seam makes mine a wee bit pointy), and very solid which means it holds up well while being stored in my cabinet between baking sessions. The 3" height is just right for constructing the cakes with acetate, as prescribed in the book.

She is a pastry chef and does not order anything she is not familiar with. So I ordered these for making her father's 60th birthday cake. Seems exactly what she thought it was supposed to be.

if you make a lot of naked, layered cakes, this will be your very best friend. it's great for any cake baker as well. it cuts cake rings perfectly. i'd buy again and again!

Have used this a bunch of times for small cakes. Good buy.

Love this thing! My one nitpick is that the weld to join the sides is on the inside of the ring but that's admittedly a super minor issue.

I use these rings to made the inside of the cake one color and a ring around the outside a different color. Even a different flavor. We like chocolate on the outside and strawberry on the inside. This is like a surprise cake.

Want to make a mini layer cake like the ones in the "Miette" pastry book? Then this cake ring is a must. Make a sheet cake and cut out the little cakes. This cake ring is 3 inches deep and that is a must also.

Just what I expected. I make wheatless focaccia and needed something to keep them smaller. Perfect. Received prompty, packaged well. Will be using it all the time.
