**Q: Is this made in the USA?**
A: Not sure. It works though

**Q: Will the strap still hold if lots of sand, dirt or mud gets into the velcro?**
A: Probably

**Q: Based on the sketch 1" is the width of the buckle. How wide is the actual strip?**
A: The sketch is misleading.  The buckle is 1.25 inches wide.  The strap is 1 inch wide.  The product is high quality.

**Q: Will this work for bird cage for the doors wont open.**
A: They should work. They are pretty long and you should be able to make it work. But I think it will be hard to work it between the inside of the cage and the out to make the velcro tack together. Maybe use a heavy duty twist tie like the ones that come on bread but beefier to hold it closed
