2 years worth of intense use - it's great
After travelling and living out of this bag for nearly two years, it's time to give it a fair review.Long story short - I'm probably going to replace my 2 year old EONA bag with another one. There is nothing better that I can see out there for someone that travels a lot. It's tough as nails, waterproof (I've been out in proper storms and everything stayed dry), lighter than equivalents due to simplicity, very well designed and is only just starting to show wear despite an enormous amount of use. On a weekly basis, I both under-pack it to get it on Ryanair's smallest 40x25x20 under-seat sizing (whereupon it is violently jammed under the seat in front), then when I get to a new destination it's equally at home being packed to the top with a full week of as-much-weight-as-I-can-carry of grocery shopping. No idea what the material they've made it from is, but it feels like it could stop bullets. It's still pristine after some real hammering. As a side note, as a travel bag, it has the advantage of "looking" small. I've never once been asked to put it in the hold even when people with objectively larger roller cases get caught. Simultaneously, when the top is unrolled you can fit loads in the bag - which is a big advantage over hard cases or regular backpacks.I can thoroughly advise combining this bag with packing bags (or better yet - multi-coloured drybags such as the ones with transparent screens by ExPed). I'd take a simple sack design like this -plus half a dozen small drybags- over a bag or case with built-in compartments every time. It saves weight and is easier to pack and unpack. The only sign of wear is that the stitching is starting to unpick where the left strap meets the bag. However, in fairness, given the amount of abuse over the last 2 years I think this could only be avoided if they stitched it with fishing wire - I've had weaker mountaineering bags. Also, tip-of-the-hat to the designers - it's been like this for a couple of weeks and there is backup strength elsewhere meaning the bag hasn't had a catastrophic failure. Other than that, it still looks brand new.The internal 'floating' velcro-anchored pouch for 15 inch laptops is a neat design. It means that the bottom corners of your laptop are well above the bottom corners of the actual bag. So you can drop the bag onto the floor and the stuff packed in the bottom of the bag will take the hit - not the laptop corners. It's so tough that if the hip strap were more 'all-day', I'd probably replace my hiking bag with this. The hip strap is fine for a few hours and to be fair I wouldn't want to see a heavy duty padded hip-strap for a travel bag like this. I like that this bag slides under plane seats so well. It would not do this with a hiking style hip strap. If I could ask a few favours from the designers for the next iteration of this excellent workhorse:1. If you can somehow get even more strength into where the strap and handle meets the bag, that would be great2. Please ditch the chest strap - I see other people's have broken, but I removed mine as it was never used (the hip strap is perfectly functional, I don't find the chest strap helps)3. Could you make the little outer pocket on the strap-side of the bag like some of the anti-theft bags? Like a pocket you can only access when the bag isn't on your back. That way it would be safe for passports.4. If it's possible to make the EONA label a little more subtle, that would be great. I know that it's no worse than competitors, but making it smaller would be classyPlease keep everything else the same, it's great.

Good dry bag
Used on bike rides to work to keep everything dry, slightly tricky to push all the air out when only have a few items in but otherwise a great bag, also has a reflective strip on it which didn't realise so that's a bonus
