Great emergency hand crank radio with flashlight. Very durable. Lightweight but works great. I love all the features on it. The battery life after cranking it works a long time. I like it. It does have some static but the sound quality is pretty good. Good value for this

Very cool, interesting product that comes in handy and can be helpful. Good sound quality it echoes depending on the space. It’s charged my devices. The solar power works well. Good amount of stations doesn’t just use fm/am also has another station where one can hear weather alerts. Very cool product very useful and does alot.

I bought this in the winter, so I didn't test the solar charging. But it does work fine as a crank charger. When I bought it, the battery was charged enough to test the radio and the flashlight. Both work just fine. It comes with two cables: a USB type A to mini-USB cable for charging the radio from a USB type A port (the type you're used to); and a specific cable for charging an external device. The second cable has kind of a strange connector. It resembles an audio jack on one end (which plugs into the radio), and the other end has an adapter to USB type A. I've seen this type of cable before on small, cheap devices. It's not an audio cable, and it's not a USB cable, so you probably don't have any spares. You had better not lose it if you want to charge your phone with this device. The small connector type was probably chosen because it saves space on the radio, since the radio was designed to be so small. That's another thing about this radio. It's tiny. Five inches long. That's probably a good thing, since it's meant to be put in an emergency kit that you take with you. The battery is a reasonable size (1000 mA-hrs, 3.6V). It's not going to charge your phone 100%, but I would guess that the radio would last at least five or six hours at a reasonable volume. The radio has some quirks that took a star away from my rating. First, the instructions say that if you leave it inactive for 60 days, you should fully charge the battery again to prolong its life. While I understand this from an electrical perspective (it's generally bad to drain rechargeable batteries past a certain point), the design should have been such that it completely shut down at a certain voltage and didn't drain the battery down to zero. I'd rather not have to "maintain" my emergency kit every two months. Second, the solar panel is too small. They say you can get a full charge in ten to twelve hours. That's a really long time. But I guess that's what the crank is for, and it's also a result of the device being so small. Overall the build quality seems pretty solid. It's cheap plastic, for sure, but it feels well-put-together. The crank especially is an important part that needs to not bust, and I felt like it was pretty good quality. I'm pretty impressed with the design that has three separate possible power inputs (charging cable, hand crank, and solar panel), and also has the five important functions (weather radio, AM radio, FM radio, flashlight, and device charger). I think it's important that an emergency product works without the user having to figure it out, and this one does. I can forgive the small solar panel, but I'm slightly worried that the battery may *DIE* die (like, for good) sometime before I need this in an emergency. Why did they include that note in the instructions? If the battery charges back up five or ten years from now, great! - This product would merit five stars from me. But seeing as I can't prove that, the concern takes that five star rating down to four.

Very neat little emergency jack of all trades. Recently Hawaii had a powerful hurricane come very close to hitting and although it didn’t greatly affect the majority of the islands, it was a serious threat. These kinds of things make you check your disaster preparedness kits and this was the one thing we didn’t have and couldn’t get before the storm. A radio is very important to have around and I liked that this had a variety of ways to have power including a hand crank, a small solar panel, and a rechargeable 1000mAh battery. It also has a decent light and the ability to charge your devices via USB port on the back. The device feels pretty durable for a cheaper plastic build. I think it should hold up with proper care but it isn’t necessarily built to throw around. I think the build is reasonable for the price. The radio works as well as I’d hope. It is easy enough to dial into the stations and with the telescoping antenna it can pick up a signal very well. The speaker is cheap and nothing to write home about but it is more than functional for its intended use. I think a problem with these type of handcrank radios is that due to not using them very much between potential disasters, the batteries lose their capacity and become nearly useless outside of hand cranking it the entire time you’re using it. I imagine that this can be an issue for this radio and so it is probably important to store it with about a half a charge and occasionally check and recharge as needed to maintain the battery health. Overall I think it’s great and important to have and hopefully I’ll never have to truly test its importance but I think it is a good deal for the price and I can recommend it.

I love this little radio. It's light weight. I lost the first one and bought a 2nd. The battery last a long time when using just the radio, which is all I use. I haven't used the hand crank but mostly because I'm lazy and would rather not unless in an emergency situation. All the feature work.

Used it several times. Seems more durable than others I have owned. Works well. Easy to use and small and compact. Nice to have a back up flashlight you can recharge with the crank. Don't expect the USB charger to charge your phone more than enough to make a quick phone call or send a few texts. Strictly for emergency charging.

Wanted to give this crank radio a 1 after I saw how tiny it was, but, hmmm. Not so bad. Radio is loud and clear. FM reception is better than most. AM is not so bad either. Walked it around the house, and FM held signal. AM not so much, but not as bad as you would think. Could still hear every word if I directed the antennae toward a window. Solar charger is probably useless, as most are, but I haven't tested it yet. Held the solar panel up to a CFL and the charging light came on. Good sign. No charge signal at desktop level. The hand crank charger actually works as the charge indicator turns on when cranking. Back to the radio. The tuner is analogue, as in it is a dial that has to be slowly turned. Channel lock is great on FM if within city range. I don't know much about weather band, but I couldn't pick up anything but static. Speaker is pretty loud. Even for a tiny speaker it is loud. No distortion. The flashlight is three LED diodes, with little light thrown. I thought it would be a LAMP rather that a weak flashlight from the misleading photo. Maybe 30 Lumens. Has a charger/reverse charger. USB with a Samsung plug at the other end. Out power is USB in radio to Samsung plug to Samsung. I have an iPhone and tried my own USB into the radio to the lightning plug into iPhone. It worked! It charged! Also plugged the provided "USB to Samsung" provided cable from my computer to the radio and it lit up as charging, so I assume it works. I'm starting to like this little bug. Probably made in China, but what isn't these days? I would recommend for camping trips, hiking.

It's really small. Like the size of a cpl packs of cigarettes. But it's easy to crank, the light is good and the radio seemed adequate. Definitely worth the price.

This is an awesome little radio. It lasts for hours on a full charge and tops up so easy in the sun. The torch was a life saver when I had a black out. A great little unit to have around the house. Small but powerful.

I saw lots of positive reviews about this little emergency radio-flashlight device, and I must say that it surpassed my expectations. Now, the little speaker is not going to knock your socks off with quality, but for what this is, the speaker is more than adequate with very clear and unmuffled sound, not tinny sounding as I expected to be. It would be quite acceptable for anyone who likes to listen to radio broadcasts, and who doesn't demand audiophile quality sound. It really is quite good considering the small size of the whole device. It is smaller than I thought, but that's a plus if you plan to take it camping or anywhere really. It would fit neatly into a backpack and weighs almost nothing. The flashlight is not super powerful, but it too is more than adequate if you find yourself in a dark garage or other place and drop your keys, or need to go to the bathroom at night when camping without waking everyone else up with a really bright light, or even for just walking around. It will light your way just fine. I think that for $26 it was a great deal. I sure could have used it a few weeks back when we were hit by a tornado here in Ottawa and the power was out for a long time. It would have been nice to have had this just for the radio feature to know what was going on in the city. I can't really vouch for the sturdiness of the device, as it is small and made of plastic and I don't feel like wasting money just to throw it around to see how well it holds up, but it seems that with careful use it would last just fine. I have no idea how long it would take to charge it even with a strong sun, but I plan to keep it charged up with the (included) micro usb cable and only use the solar charger feature in an emergency. Update: I fully charged it with the usb cable and then set it in my window, which seems to keep it fully charged with the solar panel, even when using it for a while listening to the radio, and it keeps fully charged, even though the sun has been clouded over the past couple of days. It seems as if just bright daylight, even without much sun, will let the solar panel keep it fully charged. Excellent performance so far. I don't know how long it would take to fully charge with just the solar panel, but it seems fairly efficient so far. All in all, a good deal on a nice piece of kit for emergencies, camping or hiking.

Was not sure what I would receive with this order and I am very impressed with this little radio. PV cell started charging was I took it out of the box, tuned into our local community radio with great clarity, topped up the battery with the cable to my phone charger in no time, excellent quality from the speaker.
