Packaging: This nightstand is very well packaged. The box has reinforced edges and 3/4" Styrofoam liner on the top and bottom. The nightstand has probably 1/2" of clearance inside the box.Initial reaction: This thing is dark and BIG. The picture makes the nightstand look lighter than it actually is. It is by no means black, but I was hoping for a little lighter stain so the wood grain could be more visible. This thing is also a lot bigger than I had anticipated. It isn't a downside, but it may be something to consider if you have a small bedroom.Material Quality: Material quality (not build quality) is my biggest issue with this piece. Being that the description lists solid wood first then wood veneer, I was expecting a solid wood piece of furniture. The only pieces that are actually solid are the drawer faces, and the front trim pieces. The top, tides and interior drawer pieces are all particle board. Honesty, this was a huge letdown. If this thing was solid wood, my god... would it be a masterpiece.Build quality: Despite this nightstand having been made primarily of particle board, I would say that the build quality is high. It is sturdy, the color is even, and the design is very elegant. Coaster has really perfected the art of making great looking furniture out of particle board and veneer.Nitpicks: There is a tiny, tiny scratch on the face of the top drawer, but it is only noticeable from a few inches away. Not even the most high-end pieces are perfect.Conclusion: I can't stop wishing that this thing had been made with more solid wood. The design and appearance is so beautiful, yet it still feels like a cheap lady of the night, granted a sturdy one.I would recommend this piece, just understand what you are buying.

This is a nice piece of furniture for the price. I purchased the full bedroom set that matches this and needed an extra nightstand (it only came with 1). The 1 complaint I have it the drawers don't slide on rails, but its still easy open and close. Other than that its very nice and I am very happy with my purchase.

Quality of the nightstand is everything you would hope for and is very comparable to what you'd find in the popular furniture retail stores. This nightstand did come pre-assembled and was slightly damaged during shipping; a small chunk out of the upper right-hand corner. However, I'm confident a brown marker will make this much less noticable. Overall, a great value.

Ordered 2. 1 Arrived with a tear in the box. But no problem or damage from that. The other box with no tears, the top drawer front has been cracked in half. But going to unscrew, glue and reattach the front.

When we originally bought our bedroom set five years ago, it only included one night stand. We looked at furniture stores occasionally to see if there was another matching stand, but never found a match. We randomly looked it up online and lo and behold, a match! Arrived perfectly, well packaged and fully assembled (you just had to switch the pull from inside to out). Great buy! Sturdy and good quality.

I've had two of these for the past 7 years. They survived 3 moves and still look beautiful. Tons of storage space in both drawers. Color is a rich dark brown. Drawer handles are still nice and tight, drawers slide perfectly still too. I would totally buy these again.

This item was very well packaged, but when we got it open we were very disappointed with the quality... It's very cheaply made from a very soft wood. The surface is very glossy causing very noticable scratches from even an ipod being moved along it. The drawers are cheaply made and fall out very easily because there is only one central runner on the bottom of each drawer - Unlike some of the other questionable reviews which state they glide in and out smoothly. I'm still going to keep it, but i'm going to think seriously about ordering furniture on Amazon in the future. If I do decide to get another piece of furniture... I'll go for a trusted name, not something made in Malaysia from a company I've never heard of.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AMAZON... FIND A WAY TO STOP FALSE REVIEWS!!!!
