Terrible and dangerous product.
I was skeptical about buying this. Batteries and water don't mix. But thought it was designed for pools so maybe it's safe and water proof I was wrong. Fountain worked great kids loved it but after awhile my son noticed black stuff leaking out. The batteries were leaking into the pool. The fountain still worked as the batteries were dissolving and leaking into the pool. I feel this product is unsafe and should not be sold. I'd give negative stars if I could.

Doesn't Work
This is a great concept however a faulty product. It takes 4 D betteries. The first day it quit working because it wasn't airtight. I dried everything and put in 4 brand new batteries. I thought it could have been user error and that I wasn't screwing it back on tight enough. 3 hours later it wasn't working. Water got in. I was out the cost of the product and 8 size D batteries. DON'T buy this!!

but this is a complete waste of money
Sorry, but this is a complete waste of money. The humming of the "motor" is louder than the water from the fountain. You get what you pay for-- don't bother.

Very disappointed..
Very disappointed...the battery last about a day and it fills the battery box up with water and.makes the batteries all rusty and leaks into your pool...DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

These don't work.
These are so bad I can't even give it any stars. They work for a few weeks then they stop working. I'm on my second one, the first one had to be replaced. This one isn't working anymore either. I demand a full refund!

Junk
JUNK. USED TWICE LAST SUMMER AND IT WAS PRETTY BUT WENT TO USE IT THIS YEAR AND IT WINT WORK AT ALL TRIED NEW BATTERIES AND STILL WONT WORK I FINALLY GIT THE LIGHTS TO WORK SOMEWHAT BUT NOT THE FOUNTAIN!!! Waste of money and it's all wet inside

An easy fix.
Having read some negative reviews I decided to be proactive and use a silicone sealant on seams. This took some time especially removing and putting back the large ring, but it seems to have been worth the effort. So far I've had no clouding issues and the kids love to play with the new light show. Also I am careful to make sure to remove it from the pool and shake out the excess water after use. It's true the battery could last longer but I am not surprised that running a water fountain pump would consume that much power.

Item appeared to be sitting around on a shelf or a return. It was in rough shape.
This is a gift so too soon to tell if it works. However, the box looks like it's been on a shelf forever or returned. The item it's self is fine. No instructions included I don't know if there was supposed to be. But it is a no brainier to figure out. I does take 4D batteries. If I can update to let it be known if it works I will. Just disappointed at condition of package since it is a gift. If it was for myself and it works I wouldn't care so much**Update on previous review** even though the box looked a little rough it works great. Looks really cool in the pool at night. My daughter loves it! 5 stars.
