X-Kites 3D Supersize Pirate Ship

I cannot say enough about what a show stopper this kite is. It's sheer size means that it won't be missed, and it's 3 dimensional shape gives the impression that Captian Hook and the Jolly Roger will be swooping down momentarily to wreak havoc on the land. Flies amazingly. Totally worth it!

This is a easy kite to fly here on the Oregon coast. Had likely 3 to 6 mph winds and it was great. Moves side to side as the sails shake. As you go under it the spinning tail is very fun and vivid. A+ I would have paid double now that I have had it to the beach.

Kite flys really well and is fairly easy to put together. We have found the the kite does better in a little bit higher winds and looks great to leave up all year around.

So, once assembled, this thing just looks impressive. It isn't huge, but its big enough and just looks awesome. Getting it flying wasn't too hard with a decent breeze, but it did take a few crashes when the wind slowed and also it wasn't very agile. Flat kites seem to get a lot more height than this one and it is hard to make it move side to side - but it was easier to get airborne than I had expected based on its size and weight and also the sheer impression of its intricacy and size could get anyone pumped up to go fly a kite. My little nephew was excited to see this fly and had mastered his "aargh!" pirate voice by the time we made it down the street to the park. Comes in a handy plastic sleeve that made it easy to pack and unpack and store and it also had the instructions printed right on the sleeve. Very thoughtful for people or parents who have a tough time keeping parts together for toys.Pros: Fun, high "cool" factor, moderately easy to assemble and fly, easy storage. Cons: not too agile, kind of heavy so need decent wind, doesn't fly as high as others.

First, I want to say, it Flies, and flies well. I got it up in the air on a low wind day, and it looks cool in the air.But... This is the big problem I have with this, is it is NOT 72 Inches long. Not at all. Look at that picture they post. It's JUST the ship. I'm picturing in my head a ship bigger then me. I'm 69 inches tall. It's not even close, not by height or length. The ship itself, is only about 1/2 a meter. Sitting on the ground, the top of the sail comes to about my knee. Where they get the 72 inch part is there is a TAIL. A spinning corkscrew of a tail the hangs off the back end, that doubles the length of the whole thing.False advertising, but a beautiful looking SMALL pirate ship, that gets lots of heads to turn.I'm not sending it back.Just know what you are getting.Happy flying.

I was really dubious about this purchase, but was pleasantly surprised. Arrived quickly, and much more well-made than expected out of quality material. The only con would be that I would have liked the attachment string to be a little heftier; I expect it will wear out quickly, but something that can be easily replaced, My 11-year-old granddaughter assembled it while I watched. Some of the parts are color-coded, which made assembly even easier. Comes in a rigid, re-usable package to safely store the kite in when not in use. It has two different attachment points for different wind speeds. And, of course, the main thing is that it flies great! A lot of fun, and people at the beach enjoyed watching it. Go fly a kite!! You'd be surprised how it lifts your spirits!!

I had this very Kite some three years ago and it flew perfectly. This time it arrived with a bow support that did not properly align with the bow. The lower spar on the aft mast would not set properly and had to tied in place. When we tried to fly it. We found that it was not properly balanced and would turn upside down. very disappointing. We did receive a refund but I would advise that no one waste their time with this kite

This kite is cool. Looks really cool looking too.
