Just buy it. Easy install and much cheaper than a professional install.
Easy Install. Wired the UV light to a 24V transformer with the red wire going to the 24V and the black (common) wire going to the 0 V. Opened my supply plenum access panel and inserted light with magnets holding onto the supply plenum blades. Drilled 5/8 hole in supply plenum next to access panel. Connected the two detachable wires at the hole and no air penetrates through the hole based on the design. So far works great. Much easier for me to replace the light each year per instructions by simply opening the access panel than going through the A-coil access panels. Some small amount of Ozone smell near the light during initial tests in the closet, but the house definitely smells cleaner with initial use. Good luck! Hope this helps!

Defeat mold growth at a low price
My air conditioner service company has been bugging me for a couple of years, trying to sell me on their $700 installation of what they claim is a professional grade UV light to prevent mold growth.I put it off for years, figuring the very minor white powder on interior surfaces was nothing to worry about. I don't know exactly what changed in the last 6 months, but the interior was starting to develop a black tint on many surfaces.I was able to tap into the existing power transformer because I had the original air handler manual, including wiring diagram. If you have some basic electrical and mechanical skills, you can do your own installation. Be sure to find the wattage (also expressed volt*amp or VA) rating of the transformer to be sure it can handle the additional 16 watts (or 16VA) load of the UV light system. The toughest part was cutting a hole for the insertion of the lamp. I naively bought a hole saw kit, not realizing that a wood/plastic hole saw cannot cut through steel, even the relatively thin walls of the air handler. Rather than spend $40 on a steel cutting hole saw (that I'd probably never need again) I was able to use a narrow blade on my sabre saw to make the hole.

Did not work
Once installed it never worked.

Easy installation - VERY tricky electrical hook-up
This light is designed to be hooked up to the control board on your air handler - not just plugged in to an external power source. It does NOT run on 120V AC, it works on ~12VIf you’re looking for that, look elsewhere.I wanted a UV light that would run only when the fan on my HVAC was running and so connected it to the blower terminals on the main board. If you have a moderate amount of skill reading electronic schematics (and can find them for your unit), then this is for you.Aside from the electrical hook-up, the installation was easy and the unit well-designed: bulb replacement is done with an simple turn of the holder and removal from the air handler. Easy-peasy.The holder has a translucent viewing port so you can see that the light is still on (when the fan is running).Recommended bulb replacement interval: one year.Replacement bulbs are pricey, but it’s only once a year.

Husband is a HVAC pro here's some help
Make sure to turn off the power to the system!!!!! This is a 24v uv light system almost all air handlers aka AH (the unit in your house) control boards (green board in the AH that the wire connect to) run on 24v. A simple hook up to have UV light only turn on when AH is running. The wires you will be connecting to are the small thin wires with colors not the high voltage thick wires... Now Connect the red wire from the uv light to the fan usually the thin green wire or G on the control board. And connect the black wire from the UV light to the Common wire usually Blue wire or C on the control board. If you have any doubt about what you are doing call your local HVAC pro. Hope this helps
