It worked very well to clean off my very very old 8 mm films from the 1950-1960. Surprised at how dirty yhe film was.

We were given some large, 2’ x 2.5’, mounted historical pictures that were going to be thrown out. I tried cleaning them with this solution and pads and it worked great. It took off a ton of dirt and also some unknown chemicals that had dripped on the pictures. It does not undo yellowing due to age though.

I'm scanning over 2500 slides passed down to me from my Grandfather. These PEC Pads were very helpful in cleaning them before I scanned them. The cleaner was less so. Be very careful with the cleaner! Make sure to try it on a slide you don't care about first. This stuff melted the emulsion on the Kodachrome slides I tried it on. Smeared it and ruined the slide. It was fine for the non-emulsion side, Ektachrome slides did okay with it, and the Travel slides my Grandfather bought on trips did okay with it too. So use it with care!

Working on older photos .... good luck for some but--well worth the product. Would definitely use it again!

I inherited some really old (1920's) photos that I wanted to scan for my family, but they were dirty after years in my parents' closet. I didn't want to ruin my scanner, so I ordered this product. I as amazed at how much dirt came off without damaging the original. With a few drops of the liquid on one of the wipes, the photos were ready to scan, and the all the grime was on the wipe. I'd order it again, but I probably won't have to since I barely used any of the solution and few of the wipes as well. I know I probably could have figured out how to make the solution myself and saved money, but I didn't want to take any chances, and I'm glad I decided to buy.

I am scanning slides from 1956. This product works well and dries quickly. A little goes a long way. It does smell chemically. Use near an open window.

I used this product to clean a picture of my wife that I have carried with me for 30 years. I covered the photo with laminate before putting it in my billfold. Recently the laminate came loose and left behind a sticky reside which PEC-12 removed while brightening the color. I recommend this product without reservation.

I tried this on a fairly bad photo - spots and dirt. It was a projector slide, from 1985. It looked as it if was going to erase the photo, so I stopped and tried it on a stock slide that had been purchased, same time frame. Well, it erased that photo completely. I was very gentle, and not firm with the cleaning - Barely touching it at first. So, at least on my slides, this will not work. It's a photo remover.
