Review: Perfect for using to protect my tongue - I have a nervous issue that comes and goes of grinding and worrying my teeth, which causes ulcers on my tongue. I tried a bunch of things- but eventually thought "well what about stuff gum?". Turns out that one stick of sugar free cinnamon, and two sticks of the plain mastic flavor are perfect. They give me something to chew on that is not so flavorful that my brain suggests I should swallow it, not completely unflavorful so my brain seems to still think it is worth keeping around, and when I am not actively chewing, it creates a "wad" that is big enough to line the inside of my teeth so I don't rub my tongue over them over and over. It's not sticky so I can keep it in my mouth over night (I'm sure this is a choking hazard, so your milage may vary), and if it does fall out it does not end up permanently fused to anything. The texture is perfect- it's a fairly stiff chewing gum that does not lose it's texture over time one you get the initial hardness chewed away, and I set it aside and use it for a few days so it's cost effective (probably gross, but here we are).
