A Simple Habit That’s Become a Daily Joy
I’ve tried to keep journals before, but I always fell off track, until this one. It’s simple, approachable, and incredibly easy to keep up with. Just a few lines a day is all it takes, and that’s made all the difference.Whether I jot down a memory, something funny the kids said, or a little moment of gratitude, this journal has become a cherished part of my routine. The quality is excellent, sturdy cover, smooth pages, and it feels like something that will last through all five years and beyond. As long as I can keep my puppy from chewing on it (see attached picture!)The concept is brilliant, and it would make a thoughtful gift for anyone, especially those who want to capture the beauty in everyday life but don’t have time for long journaling sessions. You truly can’t put a price on memories, and for what it costs, this journal is an incredible value. Highly recommend!

Perfect!
I absolutely love this journal. The color is so gorgeous and I love the gold edged pages. Every page is a day of the year so there are 365+ pages and it is thick! Thankfully it comes with a fixed bookmark to keep your place. There are 5 entries on every page, one for each year, with 20_ _ so you can fill in the years yourself. If you don't want to use it now, you don't have to worry about getting a new one because the dates are off. There are six line spaces in each entry but they are very thin so if you have bigger handwriting, like me, you just have to write smaller. It is more room than I was expecting honestly. Because it is July, I am taking an idea from another reviewer of writing my entries for the rest of this year on the top of the page. That way I can start fresh at the beginning of the year without leaving a blank space where the beginning of 2015 should have been. There are three pages in the back marked "Dates to Remember", but other than that, the rest of the pages are just the entries.I would also like to comment on a few things other reviewers have said --Firstly, the sticker on the back of the book. I had absolutely no issues with getting the sticker off. It came off in one piece and didn't leave behind any residue.Secondly, the size. If you read the description about this journal, it states that it is 4 x 6.5 inches. So basically, it is about the size of your usual run-of-the-mill picture. I definitely do not think it is too small. It is a five year journal that you are supposed to write in every day, so if you have to carry it with you every day, might as well make the size convenient, right? And if it was larger, it would give you more room to write which would defeat the purpose of one line a day. Finally, the binding and pages. I will agree on this. It is VERY stiff. But like any book, I am sure it will wear with time. Definitely not a deal breaker.Overall, would recommend. Especially for people who are interested in journaling, but do not want to write a full on entry every day.

Beautifully designed & a brilliant concept
I honestly never thought I would give a 5-star rating to a journal. I'm the kind of person who buys journals, writes in them for a week or so, and then gets bored.I bought this journal because I wanted to start getting into the habit of reflecting on my day before bed. I also wanted to jot down reminders of events and milestones, because of my horrible long-term memory. Based on the reviews for this book, I thought I would give the whole one-line-a-day thing a shot. It is now 3 months later and I am more than pleasantly surprised.Writing in this book is not a chore. Writing in this book is easy peasy, rewarding, and (dare I say it?) fun! I don't feel pressured into having to fill entire pages with my questionably existent thoughts. When I stumble home after a long day and just want to roll into bed, I see this book on my night stand and say to myself, "Might as well write something, it will only take a minute!" Even if I forget to fill in a day, going back and filling in a line takes up minimal time.Aside from the 5-star concept behind this book, the design is also beautiful. The blue color is slightly different from what I expected based on the main product image. It's more of a Tiffany blue, with gorgeous gold embellishments. The gold-edged pages are another great bonus! The book looks amazingly elegant and appealing on my night stand. Even the inside pages are aesthetically pleasing and simple enough that it makes my handwriting look pretty. Each page has 5 or 6 lines per section, and 5 sections per page. The idea behind this is that you can look at your entries from a single day over 5 years all on 1 page. Pretty cool!I love looking back on my past entries and I love the challenge of narrowing down my busy days into 1 or 2 of the most important events. It has now been about 3 months since I have started writing in the One Line a Day memory book. I don't even think I've ever had a journal for this long before! This book has definitely succeeded in keeping me in the habit of journaling, and I am so glad I bought it. Future me is eternally grateful.

Love the concept and the journal 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love to journal and when I saw this one line a day journal I loved the concept of just writing one line a day. So I ordered it and first it came earlier than the delivery date so that was a nice surprise, it was packaged nicely so there were no problems with the book itself. I typically prefer journals that have a spiral binding because it’s easier to write in but when you’re only writing a sentence or two this wasn’t an issue. I was happy that it does provide enough lines for each day to write 2-3 full sentences and probably more depending on your handwriting. You love that I can record in this book for five years and how interesting it will be to look at what I wrote the year prior since the book has five entries on one page for each year. This is also something that will be interesting and memorable in years to come for either myself looking back though and something to leave behind for our children. I give the concept of the journal 5 + stars and the actual journal the same! I would highly recommend this to those who journal and to those that would like to journal but don’t like making long entries. It’s also a great gift idea.

Five years down, another 5 ahead...
A normal journal overwhelms me. All that empty space! I need something finite. This journal fits the bill. This is my second One Line A Day Five Year Memory Book. I started the first one the day I got it...no reason to wait til Jan 1--that's the beauty of it! I just finished five years and purchased a second one. I really do like the journal because I HATE journaling and this is totally manageable. I write small and don't actually do "one line;" I just write about my day. This is a great journal for anyone who either hates journaling but wants to do it to have something to look back on, or someone who enjoys ruminating over their day and choosing one thing to highlight, or for anyone who just wants to keep a brief ongoing journal.... There is an "If found..." page at the front, and three "Dates to Remember" pages at the back. An attached ribbon makes it easy to keep your place. The best thing about keeping a journal like this is you can easily look back on what you did on a particular day up to 5 years ago, and you can compare each year. Kind of cool. It's kind of interesting to note coincidences over the years, like I happened to be sick at the same time a few years in a row--weird. And my kids saw a particular movie one year, and three years later saw the sequel, to the day, with the same friends, even though they had moved away!!Ok, so it's just a journal. But it's nice and small and fits nicely in your night stand--or in your suitcase when you travel. Why did I take a star away? Because the manufacturer affixes a big sticker label directly on the back of the book, which does not peel off without a fight, and leaves all kinds of crud all over the book. Who wants a book with a giant sticker on it?? And who wants a book with sticky crud all over the back? Well, now I'm stuck with the cruddy back. But it's better than a sticker. My first one did not have this problem. I suspect it may have come with a cardboard label around it instead, or wrapped in plastic. I don't remember. But it is crud-less.And as for any concerns about how it holds up for 5 years...it is fine. All you are doing is opening it, writing in it for a few seconds, closing it and putting it away. I don't see how it could fall apart from that. I'm sure someone could destroy it, but mine held up great. It's a good little book. Nice to have, and even though I hate journaling, I've missed the routine of mulling over my day and writing about it right before bed. Now I'm all set for another 5 years!EDIT: I was able to scrape off the sticker (it was a MESS) with my fingernail, as you can see in the photos, and then use a goo-gone type spray on a paper towel to wipe the sticky guck off. It's fine now. I learned afterwards that if you use a straight edge razor (the kind you scrape paint off windows with) very gently and slowly around the edges of a label, you can work around it and eventually get it off pretty cleanly, then clean the residue with the stuff I used. I'll try that next time I have a massive sticker slapped across the cover of a book. (What were they thinking???)

Journaling for Newbies
I bought this for the start of 2026 and I'm writing this on April 12, 2026. I've written in this journal each day of this year so far. Nothing too long or too in-depth (I'm not a journaling pro) but a nice snapshot of the day and what I focused on. I can't wait to look back when I hit this time next year and see what I was up to.

One Line a Day: A Five-Year Memory Book ...
Update 1/2020: I've now given these journals as gifts to an absolute ton of people, including men, women, and teenagers. Everyone loves it. It keeps things simple and encourages just enough reflection each day. Amazing gift!I've also been writing in mine going on 3 years now. Seeing where I've been and where I am today is wonderful and even sometimes sobering. Sometimes I see I still have something to work on, or I realize I've moved on from a troubling place. The beauty of this book is profound. I love it.Original review:I gave this as a gift to someone who I knew would like to be able to see her five years contained in a book. She also journals, though I didn't know it was something she was so committed to. She absolutely loved this gift. The books were so affordable (~$11) that I ordered two in case I could find someone to give the other to. I ended up liking the concept so much I decided to keep the second for myself. I've written in it every day since I got it and I can already tell I'm going to find revisiting my days each year to be very insightful. The blue color and gold detailing make this a classy, simple gift. Absolutely worth every penny and is more than just a journal. It's a gift in many senses of the word.

Memory booklet.
A family friend told me to buy this a year ago now. After a full year I’m telling you it’s worth it! He’s had it for years and relied on it heavily as of late. He recently visited us again (he is my brother in laws childhood best friend and my brother in law lives with us) after a 1.5 years apart and not keeping up much. He let us know he was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few months after our last visit, and the removal left some of his memories scattered or completely gone. He’s relied on his few lines he wrote to learn about his own life and his friends and memories he’s forgotten. I thought he was joking at first because wow that just doesn’t really happen in real life. but he showed me the scar and the pictures from the coma that followed. I realized how precious our life is and how important memories are to keep, and bought one instantly after that. I’ve used my one line a day now for a full year and can read the above passage from the same day a year ago. I love the short lines and how i can just write for 2 minutes at most and have a memory saved. I highly recommend this way of journaling your life. You never know what is in your future and this is a beautiful way to preserve your past. 10/10

Lovely
Just loved this. Am writing this on a regular basis. Only thing is that the lines are very narrow.

I love this line a day journal. It's my second one. This version is simple and unfussy. The pages feel nice and are good quality. I like the feel of the cover and the gold-edged pages. I will buy another one with mine is full.
