The Standard Deviants - Parlez-vous Francais? (Learning French - Beyond the Basics)

The Standard Deviants make learning French fun. I consider myself kind of a language idiot, but by listening to their two DVD's multiple times, I am gradually getting it. Their two DVD's is all you need, Basics and Beyond the basics. The other one that they offer which contains multiple DVD's must have been cut earlier and sold for about $80 which I purchased was nearly the same and just a repeat of the other two, so I do not recommend wasting the money. You can find used ones for less in excellent condition and I have been very satisfied with my purchase.

Keeps attention of students. I use as supplement.

I've been watching these tapes with a friend, having never had any French before. Yes, they do go through things fast, but I go back and review again and I haven't found that to be a problem. Yes, it's extremely corny, but it can be taken as camp and it adds a little levity in my opinion. The emphasis on pronounciation is extremely helpful, since that's the main thing a book can't do for you. You'll definitely need to supplement this with something else but it is well worth the $5.

this thing is a blast.sesame street in french for some of us who never grow up.it's hard to rate this because I speak french so so,mainly grammar and tense errors.but this thing is a toy and I actually found out things I had forgotten.I would say this is more of a review than a learning tool.if you really want to learn french,I would suggest "french in action"by capretz.

Do not waste your money! It is just a bunch of people hanging out talking and goofing off.

nice addition for my french students. Seems like its easy enough and even with beginners they understand pretty quickly. Great!

It's "The Standard Deviants" what else can I say. I was always partial to there style of antics. I laugh as I learn.

I would have been happier if I had borrow it from the library...I don't believe it's worth its price.
