This volume not only contains the original text but is accompanied by superb, and very charming, illustrations by Robert Ingpen. They are as magical as the story.

Very good quality book with beautiful illustrations inside. Not too long and I enjoyed reading it very much.

Beautifully illustrated. I have the whole collection of books illustrated by R. Ingpen and I just LOVE them. It is my greatest pleasure to read them to my kids and I am enjoying them over and over again thanks to the beautiful editions. I do own many different editions of all the classic stories but this one is the best. I hope to read it to my grandchildren in the future.

I really wanted to read the story of Peter Pan to my daughter but didn't want to give her a Disney book or something which equally saps the imagination out of the story. The beautiful illustrations by Robert Ingpen certainly don't do that. They bring the story back to life. The book is a thick, hard back edition and certainly worth the price. I would recommend to anyone wanting to tell their small children a classic bedtime story.

Bought as a gift for a friend's son, who has been challenged to read at least one book from every country in the world. This is his Scotland book. The only disappointment was a slight tear in the dust jacket but I didn't have time to wait for a replacement as it was going to the States in my son's suitcase. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and I think he will enjoy this book forever.

I bought this book for my daughter when she was born and it was so beautiful (this and the Wind in the Willows book in this collection) that I had to buy a copy for my niece for a special event in her life.The illustrations are stunning, the story is an absolute classic, poignant and exciting. Such a wondeful edition to any child's literary treasury.

Being honest, I did not read the description properly and so did not realise that the book was a hardback until it arrived. I paid less than three pounds for this and it is worth maybe ten times that! The illustrations are mind-blowing. I was so impressed.
