Kwikset CP913CNT-514S Kwikset 913CNT-S SmartCode Contemporary Single Cylinder Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt

I bought two. The first install was easy and it works great, though somehow I thought I bought one that was blue tooth or wifi and I didn't, but I may move this to another door and get the version that is wifi enabled. It was also easy to reset the key to match the one I (and pet sitters) have. I love being able to go out on a walk without my keys and I love not fumbling for my keys when get home. It will be wonderful for those who might need pet sitting or emergency access. I went to install the second and the lock worked when I just have the face on, but when I put the inside portion on and screwed it in, the lock would get stuck not fully closed or not get past 1/2" of locking and time out. Thinking I screwed the backplate too tightly, I loosened it, it up a bit. This was better, but not reliable enough and I didn't want to get locked out and it felt (and looked) wrong. After three tries I called the Kwikset customer service and the person was super helpful, gave me clear instructions, we tried doing various 'resets' to teach the lock and it got better, but not enough. She told me that the lock is both mechanical and electronic and sometimes the tricks to reset it work and sometimes it's just not quite right. So I got an email from them, I sent a photo of the inside and outside of the lock and a replacement is on the way. Super helpful and knowledgeable. I will say that I have a less expensive kwikset keyless lock on another door and while it is not as sleek of a look, it works just fine for this purpose. So consider that, and I'll upgrade to a wifi one next now that I love the keyless option (I have 5 doors so this lock will find a home.)

Even though I was replacing an existing new quickset lock with this one, I had a ton of trouble because I tried to reuse the old screws and old striker. Once I use the ones that came with us it was a simple task and very quick.

Lock is well made and super easy to install. Love having the flexibility of not having to carry a key with me at all times. I was able to rekey this using the smart key feature provided - saved $$ from hiring a locksmith to rekey. The lock operates smoothly and quietly as well. Overall, the quality of this keypad lock exceed my expectations!

My schlage keyless entry lock died (the deadbolt disengage mechanism broke, you could hear it try to open but wouldn't disengage the deadbolt) in our door with the deadbolt engaged. It took a few days of entering our home through the garage before I tried to fix it. After 2-3 hours to no avail, (and finally a YouTube video) I was able to remove it, but it was completely destroyed. My wife and I loved the keyless feature, but decided we needed the option of using a key if this issue ever happened again. We bought the kwikset lock with keyless entry and keyed entry option. It is exactly what we wanted. In fact we bought two additional kwikset locks for our two outbuilding doors, so we can enter when we are on the other side of the property without needing a key. They are great. I plan to change all of our deadbolts to these locks because it is so convenient and will prevent the need to carry our house keys.Caveat. The first lock did not work at installation, I called customer service and they worked through several troubleshooting methods, but nothing fixed the issue. They had me take a picture of the lock in my door, email the picture, and they sent a replacement within a few days. I didn't have to send the broken lock back, or hassle with any inconvenience. Great customer service! I will say the one negative is that it is fairly loud when compared to the schlage, but I still prefer the kwikset because of the key option. Great product!

Took a little longer then expected to install but worth it

I bought these first. I picked them based on Kwikset being a good name, but not as crazy expensive as other name brands. These are so loud, I figured there must be something wrong, or I installed incorrectly. I’d bought 3 to install on all 3 doors and easily match the keys, so I tried a second unit to see if it was quieter, to no avail. I installed a Schlage at my sisters and a Yale at my parents which are much quieter, so returned these because they just weren’t what I was looking for.

We chose this lock based on reviews and the fact that it has higher security ratings for this style of lock vs others. It's easy to install, my husband didn't have any issues. We were skeptical about the battery lasting through cold temps but so far it's almost the end of January, we installed it in November and it works exactly the same today as it did the day we installed it. We love they keypad feature, we've wanted one for years! I'm so glad we finally changed, it's even more convenient than expected. We also like that it takes a key just in case the battery dies. All in all, we're very pleased and would buy it again!Full disclosure - We do not use Alexa so I cannot comment on that feature!

The lock works great! Quikset has done a great job in providing clear, easy to follow installation instructions. It is very quick and easy to install. Most importantly, it works exactly as described without any tinkering or troubleshooting. I would highly recommend, most any Quikset product. I have used several of their products over the years and have always found them excellent products, even though they are in the lower priced market.
