SKIL 15 Amp 7-1/4 Inch Circular Saw with Single Beam Laser Guide - 5280-01

So far so good. Easy set up, easy blade installation, great laser site. Have not explored all the different adjustments but am very happy with the purchase. Smooth cut, nice carry case,adjustable blade for bevel cuts, love the blade guards, cut was stable no kickbacks. Saw dust is expected when cutting wood.

Very nice, especially for the money. Even has a laser. My dad had skil saws when I was a kid.

Love this saw pretty light weight fir the power, lazer line turns on and off but I use it and can see it well. Comes with good blade

As another reviewer pointed out, the main differences between this model and the older ones: -- about 15% lighter than the 5680 01 - 9.5 vs 11.2 pounds (with blade, cord & wrench, 8.7 without). -- shaft lock added to make changing blades easier. -- a little more power than the 5680-01 (15 Amp and 2.5 HP vs 14 Amp and 2.3 HP). --51° bevel with positive stop at 45° for greater cut capacity than Skil 5680-01 --2-7/16" Max cut depth at 90deg. 1-15/16" Max cut depth at 45deg. --The laser line guide: is handy for more easily insuring the cut is on line but becomes hard to see when working outside in direct sunlight. Another down side is the laser is not adjustable like some higher end models are. --Dust Blower: Is a surprising feature on this saw for the price and works well to keep your cut line and laser line visible while working --The safety button that you have to push to pull the start trigger is easy enough to use with one hand. --Carry bag is a nice addition and is of good quality and offers some protective padding. --Its 15-amp motor delivers around 1865W of power meaning it will cut through many types of dense wood without many issues. PROS: --Lightweight (9 pounds) --Dust Blower --Laser Guide --Accurate cuts, and powerful enough to cut through dense wood. --Wider foot plate for extra saw stability when cutting --Shaft lock for easy blade change --Power indicator light letting you know the tool has power to it (nice extra safety feature) --Affordable. Price to quality ratio is amazing with this saw. This saw has many features usually only found on much more expensive saws. CONS: --Depth adjustment lock is secured with a wrench and not quickly changed. A quick lock thumb knob or lever would be much more user friendly. --Laser is not adjustable --Hard to see laser when working outdoors --Included saw blade is not very high quality. Plan on purchasing a good quality blade to go with this saw.

A great replacement for my 35 year old saw. This has more power, 15amp compared to 10amp that my old saw had. Very nice to have the laser built in for making long cuts on 8ft sheets of OSB. It's nice to be able to adjust the cutting angle if you need to and don't have a miter saw. It has a nice weight to it without being too heavy, giving it a sturdy feel.

I'm glad I bought this because my 30-year-old Skil worm-drive circular saw (that still works perfectly) had become too heavy for this aging DIYer. I'm in the middle of renovating my basement and bought it on an impulse because of the weight and price/value ($59). So far, it's much easier for me to handle. It's no frills, but a pleasure to work with, and it came with a quality blade. For $100-200 more, I could have bought a cordless saw, which would be very cool and probably safer (not having to manage a cord). However, I'm accustomed to corded saws, I'm always near a power source, and I'm already over budget on my project - so this saw works perfectly.

Used this to cut large 1 1/2 inch granite pavers. Worked fantastic!! Highly recommended this work horse. The laser site was a great addition too!! Never had an issue with stalling.

Great product. Cuts smooth and does not vibrate at all, im in Jamaica so our electricity is 50hz. Its still very powerful, i expected a little decreased power as it's built for 60hz. I especially love the lazer feature.

Soy fan y usuario de otras marcas, pero al ver las características (disco de 7 1/4” y 5,300 RPMs, láser) y el precio, era difícil decir no. Llegó en la fecha indicada, tres días. La sierra llega bien empacada, caja original dentro de una caja de Amazon. La máquina llegó con un ligero golpe en el interruptor del led, y pensé en regresarla. Pero decidí quedármela para arreglar ese pequeño detalle que con el uso deberá pasar a segundo término, estéticamente nada mayor. Fué cosa sencilla de arreglar y quedó funcionando al 100% el interruptor. El láser rojo, venía algo desalineado y también fué sencillo ajustarlo (llave allen 3/32”). La potencia se escucha y siente al encenderla!! Se siente ligera porque trae alguna piezas de plástico, aunque la cubierta de la hoja es de metal. La sierra que viene incluida trae su protector de plástico, y su manual de usuario, todo en orden. Aún no la pruebo funcionalmente, esperamos hacerlo pronto. Recomiendo Comprarla!!!

Good machine but to buy in India one must know that it is not comatible with electrical standard in India so you gonna need step down transformer/ adapter
