Great knife.
Great knife for boating as it’s rust free and serrated to cut cords or anything else you need to cut in an emergency situation.

Love it as my main scuba knife
This knife has been on my BCD since 2015. Salt water scuba. No rust. It goes in the water and when I get home it goes in sweet water inside the pocket of my BCD for a long soak. I never take it out to rinse it or anything else. I don't even think about it. That makes it a great scuba knife. I don't need to cut much. It's an emergency knife so I can't say how long the blade stays sharp. On occasion when I needed to cut small rope / netting left behind or small cuts on deck It worked like a charm. My setup: I have a Paracord set up tied to the knife on one end and a d ring on the other. The Paracord length allows is from the D ring to my outstretched arm. I can use the knife with my gloved hand and if I drop it it stays with me and does not get lost at sea. This way I can drop it at anytime in situations where I may need to do it quickly. I can always find the Paracord on my d ring and pull on it till the knife comes out of my pocket.

Fantastic marine knife
This is my second H1 knife. I was so glad that I was able tho find this size again. Never had a problem with rusting or anything like it. Sharp as heck great for cutting ropes or fishing lines. Possibly one of the best saltwater blades ever.

Excellent knife
My daily carry at work. Awesome knife.

My current favorite knife
I purchased this to be a “boat knife,” but after receiving it, it very well may become a daily user. Incredibly sharp and very light, especially given the size. I have trouble with knives fitting my hands well, and this one just feels natural

Everything I needed.
I bought this knife specifically for a scuba trip in the Gulf of Mexico. It made it through a two tank dive, and 4 days of beach swimming, without so much as a speck of rust. Not just the blade, the whole knife... clip, pivot screws, locking bar... everything. I tried, too. It was NEVER rinsed with fresh water (there's still sand in it now, actually, a month later), and after the dives it was left in my dive bag for a few days. Anyways, that shouldn't be a surprise, since Spyderco flat out say that this knife will not rust, and they're not a company known for lying to their customers. The knife itself is a good design for a rescue knife, or a boating knife. I find myself carrying it when I'm going for multi-hour motorcycle tours into the middle of nowhere, or when I go to the lake it's always there with me. I found it perfectly suited for scuba diving. It stayed secure in my BC's waist belt, and the one time I used it underwater it was very easy to handle, with no risk of accidentally puncturing my BC. Would be a good option for a first responder, perfect for cutting seat belts, clothes, dense cloth, etc. all without the risk of accidental puncture wounds. Would also be a good option for boat knife, as there is a lower risk of drop-related injuries, and it excels at cutting rope. However, this is not a good EDC knife, and I do not carry it on a regular basis. It is a specialized tool for specific jobs, and it seems to excel at those jobs. So far, edge retention has been rather good. I sharpen it on a Sharpmaker, and it gets sharp enough to push-cut receipt paper, then stays that way for a good while. I would put it on par with VG-10.

Great dive knife
I work as a commercial diver in the offshore oil fields around the world. I would not use any other knife currently on the market today to trust my life and job on. I own 4 and carry 2 on me when ever I dive. The handle is easy to see even in low visibility, the knife is easy to open (even with one hand) while wearing gloves, the blade is sharp!! and stays sharp even after lots of use and exposure to saltwater. Also the pocket clip can be removed and the hole can be used to attach a small shackle and clip for attachment to a dive harness or BC. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is to my knowledge it isnt made in the USA. This is meaningful to me however it doesn't affect the proformance and could be less of an issue to some. Another great Knife similar to the Spyderco Atlantic Salt (RUST PROOF STEEL) is the Benchmade N680. http://www.amazon.com/Benchmade-AXIS-Folding-Knife-Black/dp/B004CT4ALA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1397343674&sr=8-2&keywords=benchmade+folding+dive+knife This knife is GREAT!! and while it lacks some of the features I rely on for a dive knife I carry this knife everyday whether at work on otherwise (including salt water soaked areas)

PERFECT for mariners, divers, and first responders. Not great for other uses.
This is the BEST folding marine knife I have ever used. Period. Does not rust, anywhere, after exposure to salt water. Perfect for marine and diving operations. Mounting: For those who want to attach a bolt snap or clip, the hole in the pocket clip bolt is large enough to accommodate a couple passes of cave line [braided nylon #24/#36] to tie on anything you please. It is also [barely] big enough for a single pass of 550 paracord, if you're persistent. If you remove the pocket clip bolt [and thus, the pocket clip], the hole is MUCH larger and easier to work with. The pocket clip works fine up to 2" nylon webbing [often used in diving harnesses] and is perfect at 1.5-1.75" [rigging belts] but I wouldn't obviously rely on that for serious diving operations outside of a warm-water vacation. Tie a snap instead, and/or clip it inside your drysuit or BCD pocket! For surface work, the pocket clip is very stiff and springy, so it will be very secure on your board shorts/etc. Useful bits: The blade has an under-center action for the first 20* of opening. Meaning that, if something snags the blade and pops it open a bit, the bade will snap closed instead of staying where it is. The tip is blunted, and therefore much safer to use for rescue, extraction, and environments that are constantly moving and slippery. The molding of the grip is very good with wet hands. There are no inserts for the grip, but under normal use [not prying] I don't notice ANY flex. Pushing sideways with this knife, there is minor flex, but that is far outside the use of this knife that it is not a concern for me. Sharpening: Just send it to Spyderco every off-season. It's a few bucks. Comes back perfect. I sharpen all my plain blades, and have a serration kit should I have to do this one, but Spyderco does a far better job. USE FOR: crewing on board any boat or dive work. Surfing. Keeping clipped to your life vest. Kayaking. Cutting lines, webbing, fishing line, etc. I already have two dedicated dive knives on my rig, but can take this in a pinch should the need arise. NOT FOR: EDC, unless you literally live on a boat. The blade doesn't handle fine work well. At all. IF you choke wayyyy up on the blade, you can use just the last serration for fine cutting, but guess what, it's still a jagged finish! This is okay, because when at sea I only carry to save lives. Fine blades and tools stay in the toolkit. For EDC, around water, I would recommend the plain-edge version of this knife, as long as you are aware that it has a semi-pointed tip which makes it iffy for rescue, and often won't cut some of the new-age lines [Dyneema and Spectra] in one panicked swipe [the serrated version will].

Eccellente
