Fit great and well made
Ordered a small and they fit great. I’m 5’6 115 pounds. Was worried after reading some reviews but really glad I got them they’re exactly what I wanted. Would buy again.

Attractive and Comfortable
I LOVE these half chaps and I'm pretty picky! I was hesitant about the faux leather but I've never found a Horze product I didn't love so gave them a try. They are so comfortable and so attractive I'll take a pass on real leather. They're a little more stove pipe than other half chaps I've tried, do not that in the product photos. I have a narrow ankle and muscular calves that I like to show off tbh so I tend to prefer the more shapely half chaps. These have a little more room in the ankle but that makes them easy to wear over my Dublin paddock boots that have thicker leather in the ankle. These half chaps cling to the boot nicely, so no bulk there, and they're very flexible and move with the boot. They sit low on the boot, I haven't tried them with spurs yet, might need to put the spurs on first with these but there won't be any conflict either way. I've worn them all day and they're still super comfortable. Once again Horze comes through even when I was skeptical! Highly recommend, even if you're suspicious of faux leather, you might like these. I'm sold!

Sizing is not Easy
Ok so to help anyone out who is thinking of buying these, i love the look, they are comfortable and appear well made now for the down side sizing.I am 5'6" and have larger calves, I measured per instructions on size guide and ordered the XL wide, recieved and they were huge I mean I have a 16" circumference on my calf according to my measurements so they should have fit perfectly. They were at least 3" too big.So I ordered the M wide, again they arrived and were about an inch too big, I wanted to purchase a wide as they are not as tall and I prefer a couple of inches below my knee, so I returned the M wide and ordered a S wide, finally a perfect fit.So if you have a 16" calve save yourself the returns and just get the S wide also they are the perfect hight fo me too, a couple inches below the knee so they dont rub when doing rising trot etc.Hope this helps.

Best in class, best made.
Yes, best in class. Yeah, I get good looks from others when they see theses chaps in action, chaps are not cheesy, flimsy, or weak. My half chaps get a real hard work out protecting me from brush, and other debris that could tear through jeans, but not these chaps, they hold up extremely well. I know they are meant for riding, but I found these to be very useful in the field as well. Getting 2 extra pairs for future use. Keep it Horze, saddle up.

Good Value, Well Constructed and Soft
I ordered a large using the size chart on the Horze webpage, I usually wear a medium in half chaps. My calf is 14.5 and leg 17.5, I converted the metric sizing to inches. Unlike leather this material does not stretch, the only loosening would be from the elastic and from my experience that takes a long time to happen, I am usually ready for a new pair by the time the elastic has stretched out. The chaps are a little large, I wear Ariat Terrain boots so the larger size makes it less of a struggle to zip over the collar. If I was wearing standard paddock boots they might be a little large. They are soft and seem well constructed and have become my favorite chaps. I would recommend them, they are a good value for the price. I work at a barn and endurance is my sport so I really like the fact that I can just throw them in the wash.

Sizing is not accurate! Way too big or way too small.
I was pretty excited about these! According to the accurate measurement chart I would best fit a s/w as my calf is 14 inches around. When I received the half chaps, they were so tight I could barely zip them! After measuring I realized they were 12 inches wide, not 14. No problem, they run small in width. I'll order one size up and hipe that fixes it. So I ordered M/W as that is the next size up in circumstance. Lo and behold these are so large I can't even cinch them tight enough. Attached are measurements for width and height on both pairs. I did check the tags and they sent me the 'right' size I had ordered.

Nice for the price
Not too hot. Lightweight. But I’ve had these for about 6 weeks, have only worn for about 3 or 4 weeks-snap is already having issues. I imagine it won’t be long until it won’t work anymore. That’s disappointing.

Great for getting back in the saddle
I hadn't ridden in over 20 years but got back into riding lessons. The investment of full boots seemed a little silly just starting out, so figured these would be a nice cheap alternative until I knew how long or how committed I would be. 6 months of riding later, and these ended up being one of the better equipment purchases I've made. They fit perfectly and don't budge at all while riding. I LOVE that I can just pop these into the washing machine each week after my lesson. With wearing and washing these every week, they still look like brand new. They haven't stretched out, faded or frayed in any way.
