Quality is back!
My four-year-old 1461s finally gave up the ghost (a small tear where the leather meets the sole) and I wanted another pair but was reluctant to give the 'Chinese' Docs another go. What the hell, I ordered, they arrived (fast, FREE shipping to Australia!) and they're wonderful. The bump in quality was evident at first sight. No more cheap leather as is used to make cheap belts; this is good stuff (my father was a shoemaker so I know about these things). Construction is much more sturdy and the overall finish is perfect. Fit is excellent and very little, if any, break-in period will be necessary. I've been wearing them straight out of the box today and they're just so comfortable. I think these should be good for at least five or six years - maybe more!Well done, Doc Martens for getting a grip on your outsourced manufacturers and saving your hard and well-earned reputation.

Tip: you probably can buy a size bigger, but wear a really tough socks :)
My toes are hurting right now. Ha-ha, but it is common experience with the doctors. I would like probably get one size bigger, cause you can just deal with shoes as always, f.e. you can just pull your feet straight in the shoe and keep walking, back of your feet will be suffering as hell. But shoes are great, the quality of leather is awesome, and it can be felt that is not just a fake “eco” leather from the first touch. Shoes can be probably wore at temperature -15 - +20, so depends on location you can wear them for all seasons

Very nice shoe, but where are the 1/2 sizes?
I have always wanted a pair of Dr. Marten Oxfords. I respect the long-lasting quality, and uitilitarian old-world craftsmanship. The truth is, they just won't make them in my size! I need a roomy 9.5US size, probably the single most commonly purchased shoe size in the country. Their "whole sizes only" offering means I cannot wear their shoes.

They stretch out quick and fit great after a few days
Size is always off. I'm a 10.5-11 and I always buy the British 9 (should be an american 10). They stretch out quick and fit great after a few days. At least they are always consistent. Been buying size 9 for years and never a problem. I usually pop out the insert. A power step orthotic fits in great.

Super comfortable, but you need to wear in the heel which rubs for a while. Recommended
Took a week or more to wear in the heel until it wasnt painful. Annoyingly the tongue often gets pushed in a bit as you put your foot in and gets a wrinkle which you need to pull out being tieing up the laces.Super comfortable to walk on for extended periods. Well recommended

Fakes - Make Sure Made in England!!!
These were the worst "Dr. Martens" (I think they were a knock-off) we have EVER purchased!!! We are big fans and faithful wearers of Dr. Marten shoes, so I can honestly say these were terribly made. The soles started splitting away from the shoe within a month of regular use (normally, you can regularly wear them for YEARS without any trouble).
