any suggestions as to color to select for someone with olive skin that isn't very dark

You could try Sandy Beige. I've used Maybelline Fit Me 220 in the summer and Maybelline Superstay Full Coverage 128 in the winter. Sandy Beige matched me almost perfectly. However, the shade I really needed was Fawn.

Have the color shade numbers changed? i used to get 30 - natural beige - and now 30 is labeled ivory beige?

I don't know about natural beige, but have experience changes in the names of colors compared to the numbers. Then, one has to spend alot of time finding out where your shade actually is based on name and/or number change. Not good marketing for Maybelline. My next foundation purchase may be from a different manufacturer.
