Remote works great, but Lowrance needs to manufacture a better one.
So I am going to contradict myself here and say that the remote works great, but I wish Lowrance would come out with a better remote option for the Ghost trolling motor. I will explain what I mean. The remote paired up with my Trolling motor on the first try, no problem. Took it out and all the remote functions work as intended and the distance is plenty enough for me to control the trolling motor from the back deck of my boat. The remote control is sensitive enough to make small incremental adjustments to the trolling motor direction, which I was not aware of but am more than happy with. Simply puts it gives more directional control than I thought. When in anchor mode the remote allows you to jog 1.5 meters left, right, forward, or backward. Its a nice feature that is useful when you need to reposition the boat bit. This remote is a bit more robust than I thought and is completely sealed against water penetration. So as I said the remote does indeed work great, but Lowrance needs to come out with a better remote for the Ghost. My biggest gripe is that, since the Ghost trolling motor head does not move, if you aren't standing directly over the trolling motor, you just have no idea which direction its pointing. So if you are at the back of the boat you just have to guess which is not ideal. So Lowrance needs a remote with a screen that visually displays the direction of the trolling motor. Listen we bass anglers get into some pretty sketchy water up next to laydowns, stumps, boulders, and thick grass. If I am sitting next to this stuff I cant be having to guess which way my trolling motor is pointing. Listen these are top of the line trolling motors on the market, and they come with a steep price tag. The least we can do is have descent remote options. Another thing Lowrance could add is a readout on the remote that shows the speed of the trolling motor. Sometimes its hard to tell how fast you are moving with the trolling motor, especially if you are moving against the current. You can be unwittingly set on a high speed and try to turn and these trolling motors are powerful enough to throw you off the boat and guess what. There is no lanyard for the trolling motor so if you get thrown off while the thing is on constant the boat is just going to keep going and unless you are an olympic swimmer you probably arent going to catch it.Other than those two things the remote really is great and its nice to have.

Great product idea
Trolling motor remotes are a great idea and an awesome advantage in many cases. The one for the ghost however is lacking. It’s sluggish and the latency is aggravating. Much too expensive for what it is. I used it a few times and it’s been in my dry box ever since
