Nearly shank proof
If you have ever had the shanks, and I hope you never do, you know how it is disastrous to your game. It sometimes can last for days or weeks. I bought this club not to use regularly but when the shanks visit. I do use it in an extra set I have for a par 3 course. For the money it is a well made club, easy to hit and for me, shankless. 10/4/23 I have used this and a 9 from Orlimar repeatedly and wanted to update this review. These are truly quality clubs at a cost of 40% of the major brands. The finish is holding up along with performance. I highly recommend these clubs. They are โinexpensiveโ but not cheaply made. Update 6/2025. Still very happy with these clubs. Holding up very well. Great value.

No brainer
I've played golf all my life, and at one time was pretty good. However now at age 70 my swing speed has slowed way down. Consequently my iron play has really suffered. The problem isn't so much distance - I can pull a 5 instead of a 7 iron - but height. Low shots can't carry hazards or hold greens. So hybrid clubs to the "rescue". I've played Orlimar clubs in the past and it's a quality brand. You can pay lots more for a hybrid - at $50 these are a great buy and allowed me to afford a set of 5-9. I chose the senior shaft. The quality is very good. The grips are fine but I prefer an oversize grip and put on Winn dry tac oversize grips. The clubs were D-0 swing weight when delivered and the heavier grip changed then to C-9. Probably like you, I really rely on these reviews - especially when buying something sight unseen and untried. So the bottom line - Buy Them! I couldn't believe how high they they launch the ball. They have a nice balance and have really helped my game. I've gained about 5 yds per club because they have a huge sweet spot and you'll love that feel of a solidly hit shot time after time. A hybrid 8 iron with the wide sole is a deadly chipping club. Hope this helps. One more thing - my golfing buddies have seen the light too.

Great club for the money.
I used the Orlimar 3 hybred for first time today on the course. This 3 hybred has a smaller club head than most but this really didnโt affect my swing in any way. Nice looking solid club. I found it to give the ball a piercing mid air ball flight which faded to the right . The ball went as far as my more expensive 3 calaway hybred. I would say that this is a good club for the price. It hits the ball nicely. This club has an offset which causes a fade.

Distance
Easy to hit and have the same distance of 150 yards as with my 7 iron. This 7 iron hybrid lands softly.

Airborne Flight of your ball, when you hit the "Sweet Spot"
This is a different hybrid, but I like it. It is a sleek built club, but you can easily get the ball in the air with it. It's becoming one of the favorites in my bag. Quality built!

Grip no secured
The grip on this club is not secured 100%. The top 3 inches of the grip has no glue that secures the grip to the shaft. You can feel the disconnect when gripping the club. To fix this I now need to have a new grip put on the club at my expense. Not very good quality and not very good quality control inspections. I will keep the club because I have used it. But you need to address this BIG PROBLEM..

Club head too small and a terrible return policy (look elsewhere)
As many others have mentioned,. the club head is VERY small, making it difficult for any but the best golfers to hit well. I purchased a 3 and a 5, and after trying to hit the 3 a few times, I made sure that it was in "New" condition and returned both clubs. Days after they received my return, I received 50% of what I paid for the clubs. Unless you are a single handicap golfer, I would suggest taking a hard pass on these rescue clubs.

Works well
Nice to have an easy club to hit... now a full size hybrid so it makes a nice middle ground between the irons and hybrids!
