I watched this movie at a friend's urging, and LOVED it! I had to buy it for myself. Was thrilled to find it on Amazon for a reasonable price.

Zombie Slavery I guess you must make something good out of the bad?
Loved this movie! I guess some Americans can never get enough of slavery or free labor but I guess it is OK when they don't consider them human or that they ever where human! The one guy really made me mad treating his zombie girl like a sex object I hope it was just that because it just seemed so very wrong but I guess no one else cared but at least he helped the kid with fido for a bit of a creep? I actually felt sorry for them more so than the people in the show who treated them like crap. Its not his fault he ate the old moron she was abusive and shocked his collar I liked that Zombie protected him from the kid with no friends he is a great friend to have. Poor old people no one likes them now because they are going to become zombies one day (as are everyone who dies). Of course the zombie breakout occurs and the bullies get blamed but poor fido still get punished. OMG she gets pregnant and all he has to say is on my salary is I don't think I can afford another funeral LMAO? I am glad they didnt kill fido at least so the could go after him but it was sad to see poor creepy's Tammy get shot. You would think after all these zombie breakouts they would stop stop the idiotic zombie slavery crap but I guess many Americans secretly love slavery as long as they don't consider them humans anymore...

Cult Classic
If you like zombie movies, this is a zombie movie with a comedy twist. But don't let that fool you. This is one of the most twisted comedies of all time, and you come away from it knowing you've just had an over the edge experience. They actually went out of their way to create a `C' movie, the kind that all of us old movie buffs adored as kids, and they actually remained faithful to it while accomplishing something quite extraordinary. They added in some `B' moments that set up certain plot undercurrents, and then hit you with some `A' moments in key scenes. The movie starts out patently `C' .. totally shallow and superficial. Carrie-Anne Moss, a superb actress who starred in Red Planet, hands you that first `B' moment that is going to elevate this thing into a cult classic, followed by key `A' scenes. However, it would be wrong to imply that one actress carried the whole movie. Frankly, the entire cast was superb, and Carrie-Anne shines in that setting. And, yes, FIDO (Billy Connolly) took those scenes with Carrie-Anne right over the edge without ever once being vulgar. He even manages to demonstrate why zombies retain certain compulsions even after death, and did it without uttering a coherent word .. and that scene is absolutely hilarious. One of the pivotal `A' scenes was delivered by a young actress who played a zombie. She never once spoke. Yet that scene, as brief as it was, crystallizes many of the curious things that happened before, and that will soon happen by the end of the movie. It was a superb set up, and you don't realize what happened to your perceptions until it's too late. It is the last scene leaves you shaking your head with a grin on your face because you know you've just seen one of the most twisted comedies of all time. This movie takes zombies right into the twilight zone. The cast and crew created something special .. a movie that will rightfully take its place as a cult classic.

FIDO is a cross between Leave It To Beaver and Night Of The Living Dead.
SUMMARY: In an alternate 1940 World War, we battled a zombie apocalypse and won. After the war (which caused much of the world to be irradiated) , people moved into safety zones and began living a wonderful, post World War Z life.Unfortunately, because of the radiation caused by the great zombie war, whenever anyone dies they will become a zombie, bitten or not!But thanks to a company called ZomCom, zombies can now be controlled by neck collar devices and used for domestic servitude. As an added bonus, your beloved family members can continue living living with you, long after death. But if the collar malfunctions, the flesh-eating zombie being contained is unleashed! This movie is visual feast of beautiful 1950's settings and cars, a wonderful cast and a sweet, lighthearted story that just happens to contain a little bit of flesh ripping. If you like the game Fallout, movies like Zombieland or just Mid Century period films, Fido will sit proudly in your collection, Highly rewatchable!

Fun little horror comedy
This movie is a charmingly comedic horror tale of a lonely little boy who befriends a zombie he names Fido. Timmy lives in a post Night of the Living Dead suburb, where the zombie war has ended and they've gone from simply shooting zombies in the head to putting obedience collars on them and giving them service jobs. Mom is fed up with being the only family on the block without a zombie because of her zombie-phobe husband, and finally gets one for the house. Timmy becomes attached to the zombie, who plays fetch with him and saves him from bullies, but when his collar fails, he attacks and eats an elderly neighbor, setting off a neighborhood zombie outbreak. This movie is both clever and heartwarming, and yes even had a few Lassie "is Timmy in trouble" moments with mom and his loyal zombie. I am definitely recommending this one to anyone who loves a good horror comedy.

Nothing more heart warming than seeing a young lad learn the adult responsibilities of owning a pet.

More good zombie fun!
Not the best zombie comedy around, but certainly woth a watch. Can't help feeling it would have been better if Billy Connolly had a talking role in the film, Another actor could have played the part of Fido just as well. But still good fun to watch and with the low amazon price tag, How can you lose?

a feel good zombie movie (if there is such a thing!)
I saw this in sainsburys, looked at it, saw it was Billy Connolly as the zombie and thought NO! I went home and had second thoughts and bought it immediately from amazon. All I can say is...I loved it. Me, my 11 year old daughter and 13 year old son watched it and they loved it too. It is a feel good movie with just a bit of zombie gore mixed in with 1950's style (loved the cars). Acting was good and thought Billy Connolly was great as the pet zombie. Well worth a look.
