These freeze caps are made of thick, sturdy plastic and have metal attachments, which worked perfect this winter in keeping our faucets warm. Also, these were the first product to withstand our dogs love of chewing. Due to the shape of our faucets, I didn't put the metal hook around the end of the faucet as pictured, but just around the metal part that led up the turn knob and it worked great.

Absolutely the best Freeze Cover ever... for people with a puppy. I have an 11 month old Lab puppy who had destroyed 3 of the normal styrofoam style by chewing them off. I can always count on Amazon to give me a good variety of choices. This one has, not only a hard plastic shell, but a metal faucet hook with a wing nut & a bullet cover for the end to protect you. I have watch my puppy(without him knowing) try to take it off. He now leaves it alone. FINALLY AN ANSWER !!! Priced right with the famous Amazon Prime yo get it to me quickly.

Before the Amazon review police zoom in, this is relevant of the product because it's unavoidable, hence the product you will be buying will be like this.Hooks are pre-assembled inside foam cups. Both of mine were pretty scored up, with the box (un-padded) full of little beads of foam.The cups fit fine, but, seems a shame they couldn't package them with a little more care. If anything it would take less work to not assemble them and have everything arrive pristine, as you have to disassemble to fit them to your faucet either way. Anything - Even a plastic bag around the hook would prevent it from gouging the foam.Other than this, the cups work fine.I actually had an older set and wondered if these would fit into the old retaining ring. It's close, but these seem a little larger, or my previous set has shrunk over the years. The tabs are in the same place however. I imagine I could sand them back a little to get them to fit into the old rings..

Arrived as described. I have not tried the product yet but the product to be high quality.

These work much better than the foam ones especially if you have furry friends

Easy to install over my outside faucets. Neat looking too.

Dislike: had to modify tabs to fit my existing lock rings, as new ones have none.Like: no other problems.
