I have the 500ml beaker. It is dimensioned as follows. It has a slightly flared top lip - edge to edge of the flared top = 3.45" The straight sided body outside diameter = 3.20" The bottom 1/2" tapers ever so slightly near the bottom in a smooth curve. The very bottom diameter = 2.83" The inside diameter of the straight sides = 3.08" The inside depth = 4.385" The overall outside height = 4.45" The thickness of the walls is approximately = .061" (difficult to measure accurately)

Can this crucial be used in a map gas torch heated chamber mini melting pot 4x4 to melt glass?

I would think not. Google says the melting point of glass is between 2600° and 2800°F and the melting point of stainless steel is between 2550° and 2790°F. Looks like they will both melt about the same time.

Are these beakers suitable for induction? Does a magnet stick to the bottom?

The 500ml one that I received is non-magnetic. A magnet does not stick to it, hence I don't think it will work on an induction cook top.

Almost perfect

I bought 2 of the 1,000ml beakers to use with an immersion blender to make smoothies/protein shakes. Replacing the plastic containers. The size is just right. Not too wide so I can still grip it with one hand. I love that the rim is not rolled over to let water get stuck in... The material is thick enough so the rim is just flat. It pours well. It is very strong and sturdy. The 2 I got have slightly different rims. One flared a bit more than the other. The laser etch on the bottom allows surface rust. I wish they had just put a sticker on instead. I tested the stainless steel with a magnet. The bottom does not allow the magnet to stick. The sides the magnet with lightly stick, from what I understand due to how the stainless steel is formed for the rounded sides. So it does appear to be a high quality stainless steel. The finish is very smooth. Washes fine in the dishwasher. Price is good for what you get. Similar to any high quality kitchen products.

Very thick stainless steel

I purchased the 500 ml beaker. This is built like a tank, very thick walls. It will withstand any abuse from use. It has no pour lip , if that is important.

Perfect as a shot glass

I got confused on the size. I thought it was bigger. It's perfect as a shot glass for the flavored syrups that I add to Cokes. I was worried I'd break my glass one.

Small beaker good for small drinks, too!

Amazingly sturdy, I used it to drink a bit of wine, the 100ml is good for such drinks. (In addition to proper scientific uses, :D ) Later, I got one labelled as "250ml", it is also amazingly sturdy. But, something went wrong in the specs. It is smaller than 250ml, in fact it is a perfect 225ml! I think a typo in the specs? It doesn't matter to me, I'm just using it as a low profile drinking cup. But it might mess up someone's scientific experiments if they weren't aware of its true size?
