This set I bought for my 9 year old daughter.... I have asked her to write a review and below review is been provided by her....Famous Five ReviewHi this is Saee. I am nine years old. I started reading this books from 27/06/2020. I am currently reading 9th book. I love reading these books. This involves 4 cousins and their pet dog.First book is about 3 children visit their cousin. There they visit Kirin Island. They go for a dive in the sea, to explore the old wreck. They do a thrilling discovery in the dungeons.Second book - They again visit Kirin cottage. They get a tutor to look after them. After couple of days they get to know that their tutor is some smuggler. They explore a secret tunnel led to a secret passage.Third book - The five run away to the Kirin Island . But there suspect some smugglers. But at night they here some girl screaming. Are the smugglers even kidnapers? Will they be able to catch them?I can’t tell what every book is about. But I bet you will not keep the book down once you start reading!

Got the copy of serial no 5 and 7 book double.Whereas serial no 11 and 17 are missing..

I wanted to give this bookset for my daughters..saw in reviews that it was illustrated.but the copies I got were not so..disappointed..Packing was good..

These books are my all time favorite 😍. Ordered these for my 7 year old, she too loves them! I've deducted 1 star for sending me regular edition books instead of the classic edition which I had ordered. Amazon India please note this as many customers have complained about the same!

Received different edition than its displayed. Also page quality not good. Lines are missing and binding not proper.

Package should have been better managed. Inside contents are of good wuality

Books Missing in series, quality of book (pages/printing) not upto the mark. Worst quality. Does not seem original.

Books are nice, good print n paper quality...but a set of 21 books ought to have come with a box by the publishers. Big miss by the publishers.

I was bought various of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five books when a child and I still enjoy them. Follow the adventures of Julian, Dick, George (Georgina but she wants to be thought of as an honorary boy), Anne and Timmy the dog on their summer holidays from school when they make amazing discoveries and thwart villains. The stories are set in a mythical place on the Dorset coast, where Blyton loved to holiday herself, and various places in the vicinity. Blyton started writing these stories in the middle of the Second World War and produced a total of 21 approximately annually. She also wrote a series of short stories involving the Famous Five.The stories very much reflect Blyton’s own experiences era and social class: upper middle and comfortable, with people to do the cleaning and cooking. The children are in the 11-15 age range (they never grow older!) and attend boarding school, travel by bicycle, train and car and live in a world where people communicated using letters, telephone calls and telegrams. The intrigue and adventure in the stories is, however, timeless. Many teenagers today (and adults!) will enjoy them.

Classic collection available at a very reasonable twenty notes or so from some buyers. Great value for money. Very flimsy box will not hold it together. Ok for putting on a shelf but there is no strength in the box, it will not support any weight. All the illustrations on the front and inside are reproductions of the original. The removal\updating of the text is only minor. The over use of the word 'queer' has been dealt with. Replacing it with peculiar or odd for example. It reads better for it. Small point, I didn't like shillings being replaced by 5p and pound notes replaced by pound coins! But I suppose for the modern generation it was necessary. Didn't realise they never used the term 'lashings of ginger beer'! Lashings of other things and they drank plenty of ginger beer but never lashings of ginger beer.

Taken me right back to my childhood! Am so pleased I’m re-reading them. A great looking set and reading something light hearted before bed is making me sleep better.

Lovely set. Both my children (daughter 8, son 10) got into these books over half term / lockdown number 3. They love reading the adventures of the Famous Five. We bought the first 3 separately before committing to the full set. Previously they had read all the "How to train your Dragon" series and David Williams books.

Brought this for my father , as he got two of the books from the library and he was horrified at the re-written text, not Blyton he's said ,but loves these
