This is on your life soundtrack...
If you were born in or prior to the 80s, this movie was a part of what made you. If you didn't see it, you spent the decade as a hostage in a basement somewhere. If you did see it, you know what I mean. If your movie library is missing it, hit 'order' and make your life right again.

Great teen movie from 80's
John Cusack was in several teen movies in the 80's and he appealed to viewers in several ways. This one is serious and funny and very enjoyable.

Everything A Blu-Ray Should Have
Once again it was a speculative purchase of a Blu-Ray to replace my DVD. Speculative purchase? No Amazon confirmed purchaser provided the information I wanted. One word reviews of 'Excellent' or 'Good' says nothing about the sharpness, sound quality or the Special Features. This is the information I want for any Blu-Ray and especially a Blu-Ray that celebrates the 20th Anniversary of a favorite film. The color and sound are excellent and the credits are crisp when paused for reading. If you choose the commentary by director Cameron Crowe, actors John Cusack and Ione Sky when viewing the film it is the same as on the DVD. If you view the Blu-Ray using the 'Trivia Track', little boxes of details about the actors etc. appear and this is where the crispness during a pause to read stands out. A twenty-minute featurette 'An Iconic Film Visited Twenty Years Later' with writer / director Cameron Crowe is a wealth of information on how some of the characters are based on real people, and how helpful John Cusack, John Mahoney and members of the crew were for him as a first-time director. A ten-minute featurette 'A Conversation With Cameron Crowe' gives additional information on his point of view for a different teenage romance film, how John Cusack and John Mahoney came on board, how the character Lloyd played by John Cusack evolved and the significance of 'The Pen'. A seven-minute featurette 'I Love Say Anything' by fans of the movie asks where the two songs are about Joe when John Cusack quotes 65 to Joe and the singer previously quotes 63. They also point out that in the iconic pose of John Cusack with the boom box over his head it is nearly dark but Ione Sky hears the song in her bedroom in bright sun. The pose and its lighting is explained in one of the featurettes. Not only is this one of my favorite teenage romance movies, the 20th Anniversary Blu-Ray has all of the information in the Special Features I was looking for.
