Why do all reviews say replacement fit tightly

Because the battery does fit tightly and it's very difficult to remove by squeezing to pull out of the housing. These nickel cadmium batteries are terrible. They don't hold a charge for very long and you constantly have to put them on the charger which means you can't use your clipper while the battery is charging. You're always have to have a spare. My batteries lasted less than a year before they had to be replaced then I decided to buy an entirely new Wahl clipper with a lithium battery which can be used while the battery is charging via a cord.
